CM touring with family when State reeling under drought: BJP

Mysuru, May 11: BJP State Vice President V Srinivas Prasad today alleged that Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy is relaxing in the Resorts with family members when the State is reeling under severe drought situation.

Speaking to newsmen here on Saturday, he alleged that instead of taking necessary actions by listing out priorities to tackle the situation, Kumaraswamy visiting temples and offering prayers are his personal choice. People have given him good opportunity, but could not capitalize it, however, spending more times for his personnel works and family.

On the 2019 Lok Sabha results, he said that NDA will form the government again and Narendra Modi will continue to be the Prime Minister.

Bengaluru, June 21: Three youngsters lost their lives when an alleged wheeling stunt turned near Jakkur flyover in the city today morning. 

The deceased have been identified as Mohammed Hadi, Ahmed Khan and Syed Riaz, all residents of Nagavara Govindapura.

The tragedy took place at around 6:30 a.m. While two among them died on the spot, the third one breathed his last at a hospital, soruces said.

Yelahanka traffic police have registered a case in this regard.

Mangaluru, May 19: An Indian expatriate worker hailing from Karnataka’s Dakshina Kannada district, who was undergoing treatment for covid-19, passed away in Kuwait.

He is survived by his wife, a son, and a daughter. His family resides at Kashimath, Vittal in Bantwal taluk.

According to sources, he was unwell for past one month and had been diagnosed with covid-19 infection.

The last rites were conducted in Kuwait. Under the guidance of the priests of the local church, prayer and other last rituals were performed at his home in Bantwal.

He had visited this hometown last year for the wedding of his daughter, sources said.

Mangaluru, Jan 18: The Dakshina Kannada District Karavali Utsava Samiti has chosen senior Journalist and Assistant Editor on Udayavani Daily Manohar Prasad for the Karavali Gaurava Prashasti 2019-20.

The award will be presented to Manohar Prasad in recognition of his contribution in the field of Journalism.

He will be given the award during the valedictory of the Karavali Utsav at Panambur beach on January 19.
