Coalition government in minority; HDK has no right to continue as CM: BSY

Bengaluru, Jul 20: Opposition leader in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly B S Yeddyurappa, who is also BJP State President, today alleged that the JDS-Congress government in the State has plunged into minority status and Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has no moral right to continue in the office.

Addressing a press conference at a Resort, where his party Legislators where BJP MLAs are staying for the last 10 days, Yedddyurappa said "I have faith in Speaker K R Ramesh Kumar who has assured that the process on the confidence motion will be completed on Monday. This minority Coalition government will lose its battle and there will be no option left before the chief minister but to resign.’’ 

Yeddyurappa claimed that the two ruling combine had a strength of 98 members in the 224-member Assembly, while BJP has 106 MLAs including support of at least one of the two Independent MLAs.

Bengaluru, June 7: Promising Kannada actor Chiranjeevi Sarja died of heart attack in Bengaluru on Sunday. He was 39. 

The actor complained of severe chest pain and respiratory problems on Saturday. He was immediately rushed to Sagar hospital in Jayanagar, according to sources.

It is said that he suffered heart attack. Doctors attempted to revive him, but the efforts failed.

Chiranjeevi Sarja, the relative of mutlilingual South Indian actor, Arjun Sarja, had married Meghana Raj, the daughter of Prameela Joshai and Sundar Raj in 2018. He acted in 22 films. 

His throat swab sample have been sent for testing, added the sources.

He had started his career with Vayuputra in 2009. Shivarjuna, which was his last film, had released days before lockdown was imposed.

In October 2017, he was engaged to actress Meghana Raj. They married on 2 May 2018.

Bengaluru, Jun 26: A 60-year-old woman, who tested positive for COVID-19 positive and was undergoing treatment, allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in the restroom of KC General hospital last night.

According to the police, the 60-year-old female COVID-19 patient hung herself in the restroom of KC general hospital in Bengaluru. She was admitted to the hospital on June 18 along with her daughter-in-law and grandson.

"Around 2 am, she went to the washroom. When she did not return back, her daughter-in-law went to check where she found her hanging dead," confirmed Bengaluru police.

An investigation into the matter is underway, police said.

Yadgir, Feb 27: A four-year-old girl and her four-month-old sibling died after consuming pesticide mistaking it to juice at Kodal village in Vadagera taluk of Yadgir district on Wednesday.

After noticing her daughters lying lifeless, mother Shehnaz attempted suicide by consuming poison.

Khairunna (4) mistook pesticide for juice and consumed it while her mother was busy doing household chores. She also reportedly made her four-month-old sister drink. 

Upon seeing the siblings lying lifeless, Shehnaz, fearing her husband and mother-in-law, attempted suicide by consuming poison.

All three were rushed to Yadgir district hospital. The siblings died while their mother is battling for her life.
