“He who humbles himself will be exalted and he who exalts himself will be crushed”.
Truly another year has come and many of us are preparing ourselves to celebrate the festival of Easter. Easter is an important festival for Christians the world over. It symbolizes the triumph of Christ on the cross over death and defeat. He lived a life of humility with true spirit of humanness.
Our preparation for Easter begins on Ash Wednesday, which marks the beginning of lent. As scriptures say, during this time Jesus Christ fasted forty days and forty nights. The agony he went through was infinite, his road to Calvary was beyond anyone could bargain for, and his final moments on the cross was a heart-stopper. Indeed The God man who died for our sake, to liberate the sinful world !!
Truly Jesus Christ is the UNMOVED MOVER. There are so many instances in our life where we cry and say, God does not listen to our prayers, so much pain, so much sorrow, at this point in life let us study the suffering Christ and bear our sorrows for his sake, Because he cares for us more than anyone would ever care. We generally try to sacrifice something during this season of lent. This Easter of Change let us try to become better Christians and make the world a better place. Let us try to clean our inner wounds of jealousy, hatred and selfishness. Radiate more love, and more goodness.
Friends, it is of no use going to church or sacrificing things to God when we do bad deeds, time and again. Let us try to do good in all ways possible and as said in the Gospel you will get your reward if not from the same person, then in ways we cannot see. A smile, a good work, a helping hand will all be counted. Count your blessings!! Let the bystanders and other people judge the Christian in you, by the example you can set by living and following our Lord Jesus.
In the final analysis, God won’t ask you if you won or lost the game of life but he will see how you played the game. Successful living indeed depends on how close we keep to the principles of scripture. Obey them we get results, violate them, we get consequence. This was a small conversation between God and man once.
“I said, “Master where shall I work today?”
And my love flowed warm and free
And he pointed to a little plot and said
“There tend that for me”
I said “lord, no not that, not that little place for me”.
And his gaze when he turned was so sweet, yet so pained.
“Remember, my child, please Remember this fact.
Bethlehem was just a little place and so was Galilee.
Friends we could learn a lot from this conversation. It makes us realize how humble our Mighty God is. We can surely have our Easter eggs and bunnies and cakes etc but above all let’s find our true purpose as a Christ follower and people of the earth.
I would like to leave you with a collection from Immaculate Heart,
Jesus says,” you call me the way but you don’t follow me
You call me the light but you don’t see me
You call me the teacher but you don’t listen to me
You call me the Lord but you don’t serve me
You call me the truth but you don’t believe me.
DON’T BE SURPRISED IF ONE DAY I DON’T KNOW YOU.
