Karnataka state committee of Indian Cultural Society UAE formed

Dubai: The Karnataka State Committee of Indian Cultural Society, UAE, was formed after a meeting held at Annapoorna Restaurant, Dubai on April 10.

Naseer Karaje, President, Karnataka chapter, presided over. In his speech he beefed about the significance of the organization and presented the report of ad hoc committee which worked for the past six months. He dissolved the ad hoc committee.

Mohammad Munawwar, general secretary, supervised the formation of the new committee. New office bearers were elected for the duration of 3 years. Naseer karaje elected president. Asheer Chockabettu- General secretary, Mohammed Shafi -vice president, Rasheed Naala and Arief madikeri – secretaries. Sulaiman Madikeri, Aazim Uchila, Ilyas Melkar and Razak Shaban were elected office bearer.

The newly elected committee was formally announced by the national president of SDPI, Mr.Saeed. He spoke on the present scenario of Indian politics and the need for an alternative politics in India.

Deira Dubai, Bur Dubai Abu Dhabi and Sharjah branch executive members also were present.

Mr Asheer, general secretary, Indian Cultural Society, Karnataka chapter, welcomed. Ali Mullor, president, Indian Cultural Society, Deira Dubai, Karnataka chapter, proposed vote of thanks. Mohammad Munawwar, general secretary and Naushad Thirunavaya, secretary, also were present.

Doha: Selvam aged 46 son of Subramanian hailing from Panakulam Village, Alangudi, Pudukkottai District in Tamilnadu province who worked as a technician, died in Qatar on April 24.

Due to challenging situation prevailing in both India & Qatar for body repatriation services, especially in Covid-19 atmosphere, Family is unable to progress further for past 2 months. At his stage Family of the deceased met Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), Pudukkottai office bearers and requested to intervene and help out, and also agreed to bury the body in Qatar itself.

Hence, SDPI delegates communicated with well-known Indian Expatriate welfare Organization - Qatar Indian Social Forum (QISF). QISF General Secretary Basheer Ahamed, Secretary Abdullatheef Madikeri and team collected the required documents from the family of the deceased and managed to clear all the necessary formalities from the police department, Health Department, Embassy of India and Hamad Medical Corporation within a short period of time and arranged for a peaceful burial of Mr. Selvam in Dukhan cemetery.
