Rain of prizes during Thodar Trophy 2015/16

Jubail: Al-Aad has emerged champions of the Thodar Trophy 2015/16 recently organized at Al-Falah ground in Jubail. The tourney was inaugurated by Bala Rangan, IT Manager, S.A. Talke Company, Al-Jubail on December 31. As many as 24 teams from different parts of eastern province of Saudi Arabia participated.

The Inaugural match was held between Amaco and Al-Falah teams. Amaco beat Al-Falah by the margin of 12 runs to mark first victory of the tournament.

On Friday 15th January-2016, the semi final matches were held: First semi final match was between Jubail Royals vs JLCC while second semi-final match was played between Khober United vs Al-Aad Jubail.

JLCC defeated their opponents in a last ball to cruse the 1 wicket victory in high voltage semi-final match. Second semi-final was also a nail baiting match wherein Al-Aad won the match by three wickets in very last ball.

The final match toss winner JLCC managed to score only 56 runs by losing 7 wickets in stipulated 8 overs. But the Al-Aad batsman easily won the match by 7 wickets in just 5.5 overs.

A huge crowd witnessed the closing ceremony of Thodar Trophy. Snacks and juices were distributed to all audience during the closing ceremony under the sponsorship of Al-Jubail Mangalore Restaurent.

MS Abdul Khader, chairman of Mother India group Thodar, presided over the prize distribution ceremony. Mr. Akber Ali Thodar, President of Thodar Friends Al-jubail, Mr. Asif from Deals Arabia, Mr. Rafiq from Al-Salah Group, Mr. Vinay, Mr. Siraj, Mr. Hanif Handel, Mr. Hafeez presented the prizes to the winners.

There was a competition for best commentators and best umpires through audience poll. Mr. Safwan Bajpe won the best Commentator award by a margin of 121 votes against Samad Haleyangadi (5 competitors). Mr. UK Asif won the best umpire award by a margin of 159 votes against Eden Irfan (4 competitors).

Apart from trophy, all the players of winning team were given 4 gram gold coin each. The players of runners up team also were also given 2 gram gold coin each apart from the trophy.

Player of the tournament, Raheed Ullal from Al-Aad, was awarded with 4 gram gold coin and Trophy. Man of the final match, Nazeer from Al-Aad, was awarded with 2 gram gold coin and trophy. Best wicket keeper, Azad from AL-Aad, awarded with 2 gram gold coin and trophy. Best Bowler, Hidayath from Al-Aad, awarded with 2 gram gold coin & trophy. Best batsman, Basharath from JLCC, was awarded with 2 gram gold coin and trophy.

Four lucky raffle winners from the audience during the inaugural and closing ceremony were given 2 gram gold coins each. Apart from this four winners of cricket related quiz (quick answerers through text message) were honored with gifts during closing ceremony.

Thodar Friends Committee member Mr. Azhar Thodar presented the closing programme and Mr. Safwan Bajpe handled the prize distribution programme. Thodar Trophy Tournament in-charge Mr. Saifulla proposed the vote of thanks.

Dammam: Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka chapter distributed Food Kits for Indian expatriates labors who were in trouble due to Corona lockdown on April 6, 2020 at a labor camp here in Al Khobar.

The labors, most of them are from the staes of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh And Uttar Pradesh, were in trouble without food.

 Recieving the information leaders of Indian Social Forum immediately visited the camp to take survey.

Indian Social Forum with the help of donors distributed food kits. Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka Chapter president Mr.Mohammed Shareef Jokatte expressed gratitude for donors for their contribution.

Markaz Al Madeena Association, Eastern province, conducted JALS-E-UCHILA get together program at Dammam, Saudi Arabia on March 5,2020 on account of celebrating 28 years of social service dedicated by the organization.

The event chairman Noushad Uchil inaugurated the function. The organization president presided the program and delivered talk about the intention of the organization. Hashim Uchil has intorduced the social and academic contribution of the organization of past 28 years. Jamal Uchil welcomed the gathering and Ismail G.I. host the program.

Games, Quiz and prize distribution to the winners and senior social workers was the special attraction of the event. The planning committee of the event includes Iqbal, Farooq, Shahul Hameed, Ramza, Nabeel, Afthar, Ashraf and Shafi.

Mangaluru, May 22: An elderly cardiac patient from Dakshina Kannada, who was stranded in Saudi Arabia due to covid-19 lock-down, has finally reached his homeland thanks to the timely intervention by Humanity Forum Jubail and Indian Social Forum.

The elderly man hailing from Kadaba area of Dakshina Kannada was admitted to a hospital in Madinah. However, his condition continued to worsen due to lack of proper treatment. The efforts by his family members to bring him back home had not yielded results.

Meanwhile, one of the relatives of the patient, Ansari Suratkal, who happens to be a DKSC activist, brought the issue to the notice of the Karnataka unit of the Indian Social Forum in Dammam. ISF contacted Humanity Forum president Zakariya Jokatte, who helped the patient to speak directly union minister D V Sadananda Gowda in a video conference organised by coastaldigest.com.

Humanity Forum also persuaded the Indian Embassy to allow the stranded cardiac patient to fly back to India through Dammam-Bengaluru repatriation flight on May 20. 

However, it was not easy for the patient to travel from Madinah to Dammam International Airport due to lock-down and curfew. ISF not only obtained travel permission for him but also arranged vehicle. Jeddah and Riyadh units of ISF helped in obtaining permission letter in their respective places in spite of travel ban imposed by the police. Madinah unit of ISF arranged vehicle for transportation. Zakariya Jokatte bore the air ticket and other expenses of the patient.
