IFF all set for Hajj volunteer service-2015

Riyadh: For the 12th consecutive year, the India Fraternity Forum has prepared its activists for Hajj volunteer service in the holy sites of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

This was announced at a press meet recently. The Forum has further expanded the Hajj services successfully to India helping out the pilgrims proceeding for Haj through guidance classes focusing on the spirit of Haj and its rituals, instructions to perform the rituals in a safe and healthy environment.

Guidance classes were held in Chennai, Coimbatore, Tirunelveli and Kayalpattinam in Tamil Nadu and Mangaluru in Karanataka and Malappuram, Erattupetta, Aluva and Kannur in Kerala state. The classes included presentation of photos and video clips and updates of the holy sites.

Last year, the Hajj safety guide prepared by India Fraternity Forum was released by the Oommen Chandi, Chief Minister of Kerala and this year the guide has been published in Malayalam, English, Tamil, Kannada and Urdu languages and distributed to the Haj pilgrims who attended the classes at various locations in India.

The volunteer service at the airport of Madinah and Hajj terminal of KAIA Jeddah has begun since the first Haj flight from India has landed in the Kingdom, engaging many groups of 5 volunteers each, on a daily basis.

In Makkah IFF engages 70 volunteers, including 4 full timers who focus the areas of Haram, hospitals, clinics and accommodation of Hajis in Aziziyah and on Fridays, more volunteers are engaged in Makkah to help and guide the pilgrims.

In Madinah, IFF Kerala chapter in coordination with the Kerala Hajj Welfare Forum is serving the Hajis, whereas more than two dozens of IFF volunteers from other states are engaged in serving the Hajis hailing from different Indian states.

In addition to the volunteers now serving in Makkah, arrangements have been completed for deploying 800 volunteers to help the pilgrims during Dhul Hajj 8-13. This will include volunteers from Jeddah, Riyadh, Dammam and Yanbu. Volunteers are divided under various teams for field, tent, transportation, support services, help desk, medical and media.

Forum will also engage a 25 member strong women volunteer team to serve the female pilgrims on 11 and 12 of Dhul Hajj. Women's wing of IFF volunteers has been in the service activities for the last five years and they provide help and support to the weak and sick female pilgrims to avail medical assistance, whenever required.

The training for the volunteers and supporting team has been completed in various Indian languages. Training for the women's wing was conducted by the team headed by Dr. Muneera Balahmar (Head of Preventive medicine, MOH)

As per the request of Indian Pilgrim Welfare Forum (IPWF), this year also IFF will provide the map of mina for the use of volunteers. IFF has thanked for the support of the Consulate of India, Indian Haj Mission, World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY), South Asian Mutawwif Organization and the Ministry of Health (MOH) etc. in serving the guests of Allah

This year, IFF Hajj volunteer service will be supervised by an 11 member committee including Abdul Rauf Cherur (Coordinator), Mudassir (Asst. Coordinator), Mohammed Sadiq (Volunteer Captain), Hakkeem Abdulla Kannur (Vice Captain).

Shamsuddin KM (Regional President IFF), Mohammed Ali (Regional Secretary),Abdul Rauf (Volunteer Service Coordinator), Irshad Ahmed (President, IFF Urdu & North Indian Chapter), Mohammed Shareef(President, IFF Tamil Nadu Chapter) were present at the press meet.

Dammam: Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka chapter organized a "Live along with COVID-19" webinar on 29 May 2020 in association with HealthCare Polyclinic, Dammam.

The webinar at Zoom App. featured over 150+ resident Kannadigas from Saudi Arabia's eastern and neighboring provinces.

Dr. Shailendranath made a presentation on the program and gave useful information. Indian Social Forum Dammam, Karnataka Chapter President Sharif Joktake delivered the keynote address. General Secretary Irshad Jokatte stalled the program.

Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club (KSCC) organized Blood Donation Camp at Latifa Hospital, Oud Mehta Dubai on April 23rd, 2020 in association with Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and with support from Community Development Authority (CDA) Government of Dubai.

Blood Donation Drive started in the morning at 7:30 am to 6:00 pm. Around 48 people participated in this drive and donated blood to support the Dubai Blood Bank.

A potential shortage of blood for transfusions has been occurred due to a significant reduction in voluntary blood donations during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic. The current pandemic, health services are now running with shortages of blood availability. To support the DHA Blood Bank KSCC taken initiative to ensure that blood donations continued and are safe for both the donor and the recipient.

After taking safety precaution and safe distance during the blood donation donors feeling happy and honored to participate and donate blood at this pandemic situation. Club Manager Mr. Mohammad Shafi was also present during this event.

KSCC appreciated all the blood donors and be grateful to Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Community Development Authority (CDA), and Government of Dubai for their association for this event. They also thanked the volunteers and supporters.

Riyadh: On the occasion of 71st Republic Day of India, Karavali Welfare Association Riyadh (KWAR) conducted BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN on the 17th Jan 2020 at KING SAUD Universities King Khalid University Hospital, Riyadh. 

This is one of KWARs Prestigious Humanitarian EVENT every year, as we are indebted to serve the society for a Great Cause.

The campaign began at 08:30 am with a theme of Republic Day Celebrations and went on till 3:30 pm. Irrespective of Friday being a weekend and holiday people came in good numbers to donate Blood. The Hospital Staff, The Doctors and the Blood Bank Technicians and others at King Khalid University Hospital were more than happy to serve all those who have participated in this campaign.

KWAR Thanks all the Hospital Staff especially Mr. Salman Baqsh for his introduction of KWAR to Blood Bank and all the arrangements for this campaign, without his support this could not been done. Dr. Zafar Mahmoud for his wonderful support during the campaign and Mr. Abdullah Al Saman for his outstanding Hospitality throughout the campaign. KWAR also thanks all the donors who came all the way voluntarily for this Great Humanitarian Cause. As a token of gesture KWAR awarded Certificate of Appreciation to all the participants.

And KWAR would like to thank specially Mr. Nasir, Representative of Blood Helpline Karnataka, who encouraged many donors and made them to actively participate and donate blood for this noble cause.

KWAR’s core activities was on display on the screen, with most of the Committee members were present at the venue to serve the donors. KWAR thanks all the members, the Executive committee and all those who took their valuable time to organize this event successfully and thank all our well-wishers who supported us for the BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN. We in KWAR wish every Donor and the participants a healthy life ahead, and we need everyone's active participation in all our Future events.
