Under-19 and Under-16 cricketers selected for KSCA Academy coaching

Mangalore, April 6: Karnataka State Cricket Association Mangalore Zone has announced the list of Under-19 and Under-16 players selected for the KSCA Academy coaching camps.

The camps are scheduled to be held simultaneously in Mangalore, Manipal, Madikeri and Gonikoppa from April 9.

In Madikeri and Gonikoppa, more players will be selected before the start of the camp, a KSCA spokesperson said.

Many players could not attend the selection trials due to examinations in these areas.

Newsroom, Feb 10: Habeeb Ur Rahiman, a lecturer in the Department of Business Administration at Kingdom University Bahrain, has been awarded doctorate from the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi.

He has completed his thesis Influence of Quality of Work Life, Ego Status and Job Attitude on Organisational Commitment and Productivity of Bank Employees under the guidance of Prof Rashmi Kodikal. 

Habeeb Ur Rahiman is the son of Yusuf and Ayisha couple from Uppinangady in Dakshina Kannada district.

After obtaining his Master Degree (MBA, Finance) from Visvesvaraya Technological University in 2012, he had worked in Bearys First Grade College, Kundapura and P A College of Engineering, Mangaluru before migrating to Bahrain.

Mangaluru, Jan 24: Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh on Friday said that a specialised task force to manage natural disasters would soon be constituted in all talukas of the Dakshina Kannada district, an official statement said here.

She further said in a meeting of the District Disaster Management Authority that during the floods last monsoon there was a shortage of boats to rescue stranded residents from flood-hit areas. Hence, more boats would be procured for the Home Guards and the Fire and Emergency Services.

She also instructed officials to make sure that schools have their own disaster management plans and also advised them to carry emergency materials kit, used during a natural disaster, in their vehicles.

Bengaluru, Feb 17: Karnataka State Government have plans to establish three more ultra Mega Renewable Energy power parks, each of 2500 MW capacity, Karnataka Governor, Vajubhai Wala informed the joint legislative meeting, here on Monday.

Addressing a Joint Legislative meeting here, he said that the proposed Ultra Mega Renewable Energy parks would come up at Koppala, Bidar and Gadaga in the state.
