Under-19 and Under-16 cricketers selected for KSCA Academy coaching

Mangalore, April 6: Karnataka State Cricket Association Mangalore Zone has announced the list of Under-19 and Under-16 players selected for the KSCA Academy coaching camps.

The camps are scheduled to be held simultaneously in Mangalore, Manipal, Madikeri and Gonikoppa from April 9.

In Madikeri and Gonikoppa, more players will be selected before the start of the camp, a KSCA spokesperson said.

Many players could not attend the selection trials due to examinations in these areas.

Bengaluru, Jun 18: Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has deployed a COVID-19 infection control "surveillance team" to look after travellers coming from other states.

Those coming to Bengaluru Urban and Bengaluru Rural Districts must undergo a 14-day home quarantine.

The Bengaluru Mayor today inaugurated surveillance team at Dr Raj Kumar Glass House.

Deputy Mayor Ramamohan Raju, Health Standing Committee Chairman Manjunath Raju G, Special Commissioners D Randeep, Manjunath, Superintendent of Police Mr Murugan and other officials were also present in the event.

There are 7,944 coronavirus cases in Karnataka including 2,843 active cases and 4,983discharged. 114 patients have succumbed to COVID-19 in the state. 844 positive cases were reported in Bengaluru Urban and 39 in Bengaluru Rural.

Belagavi, Apr 30: Police Sub-Inspector attached to Sadalaga Police Station Anil Kumbar was suspended on Wednesday pending inquiry for negligence and misbehavior in Examba incident, Superintendent of Police Laxman Nimbargi said.

According to him, the PSI was suspended as he misbehaved with Sachin Sawant a Centeral Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Cobra Commando on April 23 at his native village Yakshamba village and arrested him on charges of not wearing mask. On scuffle with the constable the commando was handcuffed and chained at Sadalaga police station.

Sachin Sawant was sent to Hindlaga Jail by the Court and was released on conditional bail on Tuesday.

Mangaluru, May 5: The principal of St Agnes College, Mangaluru, Sr Dr Jeswina AC attained superannuation after 28 years of dedicated and fruitful service.

Sister Dr Venissa AC, the associate professor of the department of Economics, has been appointed by the Apostolic Carmel Educational Society Management as the principal of the college. Sister Roopa Rodrigues AC. has been appointed as the vice principal.

Sr Dr Venissa AC was earlier serving as the vice principal at St Agnes College.

The college and the management has thanked Sr Dr Jeswina AC for the dedicated services she has rendered to the college.
