Under-19 and Under-16 cricketers selected for KSCA Academy coaching

Mangalore, April 6: Karnataka State Cricket Association Mangalore Zone has announced the list of Under-19 and Under-16 players selected for the KSCA Academy coaching camps.

The camps are scheduled to be held simultaneously in Mangalore, Manipal, Madikeri and Gonikoppa from April 9.

In Madikeri and Gonikoppa, more players will be selected before the start of the camp, a KSCA spokesperson said.

Many players could not attend the selection trials due to examinations in these areas.

Bengaluru, Mar 12: Karnataka on Thursday confirmed another positive case of the deadly coronavirus, taking the total number of infected persons to five in the state.

According to a source from the State Health Department, the infected person, a 26-year-old patient had recently returned from Greece. He is currently under observation in an isolation ward in a city hospital.

Mysuru, Mar 7: Former minister and senior Congress leader and sitting MLA Tanveer Sait has shot off a letter to state Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai expressing his dissatisfaction over the slow progress in the investigations regarding the attack on him.

In the letter, which he released to the press on Saturday, he claimed that although the police have already arrested the culprit, but it is yet to find the real masterminds, leaders or organisation behind the attack.

Mr Sait urged the Home Minister to request the police to speed up their investigation and solve the case at the earliest and give him justice.

Mangaluru, Mar 29: Infosys Foundation Chairperson Sudha Murty has sent the second consignment of N95 Masks, Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and Sanitisers worth about Rs 73 lakhs, City police Commissioner Dr P S Harsha said on Sunday.

"These will be primarily used by Doctors, Nurses and Paramedics of Wenlock Hospital here and masks by the frontline staff of ASHA and police at risk of exposure to the virus,” Dr Harsha tweeted on Sunday.

The district has received the first consignment with critical medical equipment worth Rs 28 lakh from the Infosys foundation on Saturday, March 28.
