Sharjah, October 22: Shocked and shivering. That’s how a student felt when a teacher forced him to strip down to his undergarments as a punishment in class. The Grade 5 schoolboy was put through the humiliation because he felt cold with the air-conditioner at full blast, and did not listen to the teacher when he was asked not to adjust the sleeves of his shirt.

The teacher was later sacked by the Sharjah Education Zone (SEZ) after an enquiry was conducted.

“I’m appalled by this act of the teacher who is not fit to work in the profession,” said Saeed Musabeh Al Kabi, Director of Sharjah Education Zone. He said he took swift action after a panel, which investigated the incident, confirmed the teacher was at fault. He said such an act would affect the mental and psychiatric state of the child and was unwarranted.

The teacher and the principal of the American curriculum school have been summoned for further questioning into the shocking incident. Officials also found the woman teacher working illegally at the school as the school management had not completed her appointment procedures. “This is a blatant violation committed by both the school and the teacher,” said Al Kabi.

Further, the school was hauled up for not sticking to rules pertaining to appointment of employees.
Sawsan Essa Obaid, Head of the Legal Affairs Section, termed the action of the teacher as ‘uncivilised’. Corporal punishment and extreme measures like this cause trauma on the child, she said.
The Ministry of Education prohibits corporal punishments in schools.

Note that intrinsic value drives the capital appropriation choice
a minimum of as much as danger tolerance. For over a century,
the S&P 500 (and its antecedents) have actually reverted to a mean of about 16.5 times earnings.
It appears possible to rather anticipate your 20-year investment return from the present index P/E ratio.

Kota, Feb 26: At least 24 people died and four others sustained injuries as a private bus carrying a wedding party fell into a river on Kota–Dausa highway in Bundi district on Wednesday morning, police said.

The wedding party with 28 persons on board was headed to Sawai Madhopur from Kota early morning when the driver apparently lost balance of the bus while traversing a bridge near Papdi village under Lekhari police station limits, Lakheri Sub-Inspector Rajendra Kumar said.

The bus, subsequently, plunged into Mej river from the bridge that had no wall or railing, Kumar said.

Thirteen people died on the spot while 10 others succumbed to their injuries on way to hospital, he added.

The deaths include 11 men, 10 women and three children.

The injured were rushed to Lekhari government hospital from where the critically injured are being referred to a government hospital in Kota, the SI further said.

Most of the injured people were rescued with the help of locals in the village, he added.

Tengnoupal, Jan 21: A woman IPS officer has alleged that a rifleman of Assam Rifles physically assaulted and molested her at a check post near Moreh town in Manipur's Tengnoupal district, police said on Tuesday.

Based on a written complaint of the IPS officer, an FIR has been registered against rifleman P K Pandey and a summon has been issued to him to appear before the concerned police station, the police said.

Manipur DGP L M Khaute told reporters on Monday, "We have made contacts with the Assam Rifles authorities. A complaint has been lodged by the officer." In her complaint, the IPS officer said that on reaching Khudengtabi check post on Sunday afternoon one of her escorts, who was not in uniform, told the frisking party of Assam Rifles to register their entry.

Despite showing their identity cards, the rifleman allegedly detained them, she said.

"We offered to search ourselves and the vehicle, but he was not interested", she said.

The rifleman began hitting the official vehicle and "misbehaved, humiliated, harassed and assaulted me and my escort personnel," she alleged.

The IPS officer also alleged that the rifleman molested her and when her escorts tried to intervene, he thrashed them.

She further accused the rifleman of making "sexually coloured" remarks against her, using abusive language and even tried to snatch her phone when she tried to call her senior officers.

The issue was brought under control after the matter was reported to the Brigadier of 26th Assam Rifles and the Major of the D-company of 12th AR, police said.
