April 16, 2016

Mangaluru, Apr 16: Two prominent Mangaluru based Pre-University colleges that are known for producing' rank students and state toppers' have been raided by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officials in connection with the II PU chemistry paper leakage case.

The CID officials raided Expert PU College and Mahesh PU College of Mangaluru on Friday.

Apart from these two prestigious institutions, nine more private colleges across Karnataka including six in Bengaluru alone, were also raided on Friday.

The other colleges raided include Narayana PU College in Ballari and Vidyaranyapura in Bengaluru; Sri Chaitanya PU College in Vidyaranyapura and Ballari; Deeksha Integrated in Yelahanka and Tumakuru; Presidency College in Kempapura; Brindavan College in Sanjay Nagar; Royal Concorde in Kalyan Nagar.

According to reliable sources, during the raids the officials recovered incriminating documents that link the colleges to the Pre-Univesity chemistry paper leakage.

The raids were carried out based on the information provided by the three accused — K.M. Muralidhar, Anil Kumar and K.S. Ranganath — who were arrested on April 13. They told investigators that they shared the question papers and key answers with the management of the colleges, who in turn passed the information on to “select students”

CID officials suspect that more colleges are involved in the question paper leak racket and that the 11 colleges are just the tip of the iceberg. No arrests have been made so far as the police are verifying the seized documents.

Sources said the prime accused, Shivakumar, and his son, Dinesh, who are on the run might have more links with the colleges and tutorials across the State.

Sir,

I request all to stop blaming Mahesh PU college / Expert college. It is a good college and they are having good teachers also. If you give your non-sense comments like this. what about the future of the students who are studying there. Please think about the children and stop your non sense comments. Tell about good comments which will be very useful to children who are getting scared about this issue.

I would like to answer Mr. Prakash's Comments from Mysore:
Probably Prakash Sir may not be knowing how the selection will be done for great colleges of Medical and Engineering. There are competitive exams called CET, JEE Mains, JEE Advance, AIPMT, etc. which are not based on the Board subject marks. Let's not become Idiots to call others Idiots who have Sweat for 2 years sacrificing their social obligations to acheive the heights in their career. We do not have any morale to abuse and get cheap publicity!!!

If the students of Expert score better than others in the latest Chemistry paper which has been most securely distributed, what would be the opinion of the great fellows who are taking this opportunity to defame the institution. Will they shut all their openings which is presently being used to do the great job of JAGRUTI among the PUBLIC ? Let us wait and watch!!! TRUTH PREVAILS!

TV Channels can stoop down to any level for TRPs. Expert is one of the best PU College in the state with a Team of Dedicated teachers. Expert students do not require question papers to write the board or any other competitive exams. Just because Expert has been raining ranks in all competitive exams False allegations are been made. Lot of hard work is put in by the students too. I am a parent of a Expert Student.

this might have happened since many years, only parents paid huge money may justify the act of Expert,,they are giving justice to the students studying in their college by doing injustice to the rest and to the state and country,

This is something baseless and trying to defame the institution like EXPERT College which is following rigorous study pattern to keep the students ready for higher level of competitiveness required for entry in premier institutions like NITs, IIITs, IITs, etc. Just because we have freedom of speech let us not use it for defaming somebody Unless and until it is proved beyond doubts. Anybody to be blamed at this stage, it is the state government concerned department officials and Dirty Politicians who are involved in these type of illegal activities.

The media shouldn't shame\\name the college unless proven. This will have an affect on the reputation of the college and also the students passing out through these colleges. Down the line, no one may give them admission even though for no mistake of the students and the college in case the college is proven innocent not guilty.

Such things are politically motivated with insiders of the PU board being involved for sure. Just because a student is a topper, that doesn't entitle the CID to interrogate them without looking into their educational history. If the student has been a topper all his Educations carrier he should not be questioned. This will have a psycological effect on the students.

First of all , I myself am a \Maheshian\" . The thing is , neither Mahesh PU nor Expert have leaked/shared the paper . Its just a rumour thats spreading ... And I read some comments about genuine students being blamed , I'm sorry to say this but I'm a genuine student We don't being blamed because we know the truth and we know how hard we have worked.
I've inculcated many values from expert. One amongst them is to respect teachers and the knowledge they provide us.
Without them we are nowhere. And put your self is any teachers shoes, wouldn't you be happy if the students are successful because of their teaching and hard work ?
And the fact of paying fees for this colleg if you'll feel it is more then don't put your children here .
It's not going to work if you'll talk here and later take back your words.
Try to put your children in any other college and see
No college has that study ambience as expert does
It's not that the media has guts to publish this.
Just that they have to do something other than biting their nails.

I don't get the point of you'll commenting about a college where you'll haven't even studied . Expert is one of the best colleges you'd ever see. When the students of other colleges enjoy their PU LIFE we have struggled and slothed to achieve success . Dreams are fulfilled only with hard work and determination. If you'll think that the college leaked papers to the students , then why can't youll also look upon the fact that not everyone is successful here.
Since I've been a student I know , how hard I've worked . 5-6 hours of sleep a day , not because they asked me to do so , because I was motivated by my goal to be something useful in life and here I am with a free medical seat . A payment seat would cost me a crore but I had to just pay 60k. I was close to some of the toppers in CET and in boards , and they have been doing extremely well in their respective college now too. Does this mean that their present universities leak papers ?
Think guys !
The time has come when some introspection by the Indian media is required. Many people, not only those in authority but even ordinary people, have started saying that the media have become irresponsible and wayward, and need to be reined in.They can do anything to increase their TRPs ..
People always try to pull successful people down. Think before you come to any conclusion. We are the future of this nation and not the MEDIA

I always wondered how come these colleges perform so well. I am sure there are some really talented students in these colleges who probably work hard and get where they want to go. Unfortunate part here is with those other students who worked hard and still have to go through this .... I can't imagine, Govt lost total control of PU exams. In India its a make or break deal for kids with their future. Being a son of a professor, I do know how honest professors were in the olden days. I am sure there are quiet a few left even now. Because of few culprits, value for education is going down hill. I really feel sorry for those students who really deserve the best but don't think they will get the justice this time.

It's really sad that Mahesh has been named in this. I'm aware of the situation there and it's nothing close to what has been published and what people are saying. This is definitely not true and the Media should verify such news before publishing it as it affects the college's reputation. As far as expert is concerned, we all know what goes on there. But again, we should wait for the Concerned persons to verify this piece of news. I hope mahesh comes out clean.

New Delhi, Jun 6: With the coronavirus pandemic showing no signs of abating, it seems unlikely that Muslims from India will be able to undertake the Hajj pilgrimage this year.

However, the government will take a final decision on the matter only after Saudi Arabia makes its position on hosting the pilgrimage clear.

A circular issued by the Hajj Committee of India on Friday said only a few weeks are left for the preparatory work in India for Hajj 2020, yet the Saudi authorities have not communicated any further development regarding the pilgrimage.

"In view of the several inquiries received and concerns expressed over uncertainty over Hajj 2020, it has been decided by the Hajj Committee of India that, those pilgrims who desire to cancel their Hajj journey this year, their 100 per cent amount paid so far will be refunded without any deductions," the circular issued by Hajj Committee of India CEO Maqsood Ahmed Khan said.

"Coronavirus cases are increasing in Saudi Arabia and two lakh people have to go from here. We had made preparations, but now there is very little time left. We are waiting for an official word from Saudi Arabia," a top source said.

In response to a question, the source said, "This time, it is unlikely that people will be able to undertake Hajj from India."

Uncertainty has been looming large over this year's Hajj in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic and though Saudi Arabia has not made a decision on whether the annual pilgrimage will be held or not, it did ask Muslims to delay their bookings till there is more clarity.

The bilateral annual Hajj 2020 agreement between India and Saudi Arabia was signed last December. In 2020, a total of 2 lakh Indian Muslims were expected to perform Hajj.

Over 95,000 COVID-19 cases and more than 600 deaths have been reported in Saudi Arabia due to the coronavirus pandemic, according to Johns Hopkins University data.

Some countries have decided not to send their people for Hajj this time. The most prominent among these is Indonesia, the country with the largest Muslim population in the world.

The Hajj 2020 is proposed in the period between late July and early August.

The Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam which every Muslim is required to complete at least once in their lifetime if they are healthy enough and have the means to do so.
