Mangaluru, May 25: Registering their protest against the “communal and anti-people policies” of Narendra Modi led union government, the workers of Left parties staged a rally in Mangaluru.

The rally was jointly organised by the Dakshina Kannada district committees of Communist Party of India (Marxist) and Communist Party of India as a precursor to mammoth protest rally planned by the Left parties in Bengaluru on June 6.

Speaking on the occasion, CPI district secretary V Kukyan said the BJP led NDA government which already two years at the centre have belied all promises made to their respective electorate.

He said that the government's policies had left the poor and the deserving sections of society in a rather piquant situation.

“Team Modi is catering to the interests of the capitalists ignoring the interests of both farmers and the labour class, he said adding the state government too has failed in providing even basic minimum amenities to the people that expected it,” he said.

The BJP that promised to bring back black money stashed in tax havens abroad prior to the elections has failed miserably in this regard. Corporate borrowers owe Indian banks nearly Rs 3-lakh crore, he said adding nationalized banks have already declared this as non-performing assets. The union government also failed to stop liquor baron Vijay Mallya from fleeing the country and being brought to justice here, he noted.

CPM district secretary Vasanth Achary said it is the corporates who are reaping the benefits of Indian independence and not poor people.

Good move. Though the main opposition party Congress is doing very very less effort to counter communalism of Modi Government.
Atleast Khanayya Kumar voice heard more than entire Congress party.

Bengaluru, Jan 24: After the visit of fact finding committee members to the spot, the Christian community here decided to submit a report to the state government urging to install a 114-ft. statue of Jesus Christ at Kapala Betta in Kanakapura taluk of Ramanagaram district, Congress MLC Ivan D’souza said here on Thursday.

While talking to media, Mr D’souza said the committee would submit the report to Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa and Revenue Minster R. Ashok and urge the government to construct the statue at the earliest.

The RSS and other BJP outfits have strongly opposed the installation, following which the government ordered suspension of the work. A few days ago, Kalladka Prabhakar, RSS ideologue, took out a rally in Kanakapura opposing the installation.

Bengaluru, Jul 22: On Wednesday morning starlet and Bigg Boss 3 contestant Jayashree Ramaiah sent social media into a tizzy with an update that read, “I quit. Goodbye to this f*****g world and depression.” Friends and acquaintances immediately began reaching out to the actor asking her to return their concerned calls and desist from taking any extreme steps.

“Jayashree has been battling depression for a while now. She had family issues and was also concerned about the lack of work,” shares actor Ashvithi Shetty. The Ramachari twins were in touch with Jayashree since they met at a celebrity cricket match four years ago. “She has shared several times about how low she’s been and I would try to cheer her up. But the problem was that she’d keep changing her phone number so often that it became difficult to keep track of how she was doing,” states Ashvithi.

Around four months ago, Jayashree moved into her own home and mentioned to her that she was happy with this new development in her life. “But she went retreated again and a few days ago, I messaged her on social media and she said she was doing fine. So I was shocked to see this update on Wednesday morning,” avers the actor. Repeated calls finally elicited a message from Jayashree that she was getting admitted to the hospital. “But I also got contradictory information that she had been discharged and had been taken to the hospital again but she was refusing to go inside. I am awaiting more clarity on the issue,” sums up Ashvithi.
