Mangaluru, May 29: Fazal Koyamma Thangal Koorath, the Khazi of Ullal, has finally accepted the election of Rasheed Haji Ullal as the new president of Ullal Jumma Masjid and Sayyid Madani Dargah.

With this the ugly tussle between two factions to wrest administrative control of this religious institution has come to an end.

In fact, Rasheed Haji Ullal was formally elected president of the Dargah on April 26. However, the election proceedings were boycotted by a few members backed by Ullal Khazi.

On the same day, Ullal Khazi had convened a separate meeting and declared his favourite candidate Bukhari as the new president. This had led to ugly clashes between followers of two groups.

However, earlier this week, a peace meeting was held between two factions under the leadership of AP Aboobakar Ustad, the general secretary of All India Sunni Jam-Iyyathul Ulema, who asked the elected president to prove his majority. Accordingly Rasheed Haji Ullal proved his majority on May 23.

On Saturday, the Khazi returned to Ullal and showed the president green signal to lead the administrative committee of the historic Dargah.

@Sini Mol,
For your kind information, Islam not at all prohibited women to enter Masjid. I can quote many hadith about this. Some of the Pseudo Muslims in our country opposing this. They are doing opposite what Islam says. E.g. Women are not allowed

Dear
Believers NEVER despairs, They already KNOW the FITNA (trials) of this ERA... and Most of the MUSLIMS never understand such FITNA unless they FIRMLY GRIP their FAITH in ALLAH. (They will never bow or ask with the dead or to get barakah from the GRAVEs)
BELIEVERS SOLELY believe & Depend on ALLAH alone.... ALLAH is enough for them. May ALLAH include us in that Group.
They already know everything is with the permission of ALLAH, They already know cos the Prophet Muhammad pbuh said that a time will come that the BELIEVER will be very FEW but MUSLIMs will be a lot...

This TUSSLE is for the GOOD... Most of the MUSLIMs understood the POWER OF MONEY. They REALISED Who is working for the MOney and who is working for the FAITH.

RESPeCT the Auliyas the way prophet Muhammad pbuh taught us. Not the way which was never seen in the times of the SAHABAS... and the 3 generations... We might fall into SHIRK (Associating partners with ALLAH) . May ALLAH protect us from falling into SHIRK unknowingly...

Bengaluru, Apr 28: Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday demanded that the Karnataka government announce a "special package" for unorganised sector workers, street vendors and autorickshaw drivers, among others, all daily wagers whose lives are affected by the COVID-19 lockdown. "..a special package needs to be announced to this section of people, this is the demand," Siddaramaiah, who is also Leader of the Opposition in the state assembly, told reporters here.

Alleging that the government has failed to control the spread of coronavirus, he said it is the government's responsibility to take care of the basic needs of those from the unorganised sector, whose lives have been impacted by the lockdown. "It is the duty of the government and they should do it immediately. The package should also be announced. I will hold discussions with leaders of other opposition parties like JD(S), CPI, CPI(M) and BSP in this regard and also on trouble faced by farmers," he added. Alleging discrimination in supply of food packets and ration kits, Siddaramaiah said it was being supplied properly only in constituencies represented by BJP legislators.

"Politics is being played out in supply of food materials to the needy, keeping corporation elections in mind.... We don't want to do politics at this point in time as there is lockdown. If things continue to be the same after the lockdown ends, we will protest on the streets," he said.

Siddaramaiah on Tuesday interacted with representatives of auto rickshaw and cab drivers, street vendors, barbers, unorganised workers organisations, among others, to understand the difficulties faced by them during the lockdown and to know whether help from the government has reached them. He said most of them don't have work and it has become difficult for them to lead their normal lives.

They raised several issues like auto and cab drivers being unable to pay road tax and EMI, he said, adding that he would write a detailed letter to the Chief Minister in this regard The former Chief Minister pointed out that there is about 21 lakh registered organised workers, 1.32 crore lakh unorganised workers and also agriculture labourers in the state.

"Among organised workers only 12.5 of the 21 lakh are said to be getting Rs 2000, that too from the Employees Welfare Fund, while others could not get any money, citing reasons like they have not renewed it," he said.

On the other hand, unorganised sector workers don't get money and were also not getting proper food or ration kits, he alleged Though the labour department claimed that it was supplying one lakh food packets and 1.5 lakh ration kits, as also corporations, there were leakages and it was not reaching the beneficiaries properly, he said.

Ahmedabad, Feb 24: US President Donald Trump arrived in Ahmedabad on Monday for the first leg of his India trip.

The Air Force One plane carrying Trump and his wife Melania landed at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel international airport here at 11.37 am, officials said.

It was scheduled to land at 11.40 am.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who reached Ahmedabad over an hour before Trump did, was present at the airport to welcome the US president at the airport.

In Ahmedabad, Trump will visit Mahatma Gandhi's Sabarmati Ashram, take part in a roadshow with Modi and jointly address over one lakh people at a cricket stadium, before heading for Agra to see the iconic Taj Mahal with Melania.

Trump, who is also accompanied by daughter Ivanka, son-in-law Jared Kushner and top brass of his administration, will get a taste of India's cultural melange during his high- optics Gujarat itinerary, after the bonhomie between the two leaders at the 'Howdy, Modi!' event in Houston last year.

The US president and Modi will participate in a roadshow from the airport to Sabarmti Ashram and from there to the newly-built Motera cricket stadium, where over a lakh people are expected to be present for the 'Namaste Trump' event.

Dance groups and singers from different parts of the country will be performing on stages that are dotting the 22- km route of the 'India roadshow' in the city.

Huge billboards of the two leaders and replicas of historic places in Gujarat have also been placed along the roads where people will greet the two leaders.

Over 10,000 police personnel, besides officials of the United States Secret Service, and personnel of the National Security Guards (NSG) and the Special Protection Group (SPG) have been deployed for the high profile visit.

The seventh US president to visit India, Trump on Sunday retweeted a video in which his face was superimposed on the hit Indian movie-character Bahubali, showing him as a great saviour.

Modi will accompany Trump to the Sabarmati Ashram, which was home to Mahatma Gandhi from 1917-1930 during India's freedom struggle.

Several world leaders including Chinese President Xi Jinping and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe have visited Sabarmati Ashram in recent years.

Ashram secretary Amrut Modi said Trump will spend 15 minutes at the place.

"Trump will visit the 'Hriday Kunj'. If he wishes, he will spin a charkha (spinning wheel). We will also gift him a coffee-table book, and a book containing 150 quotations of Gandhi," the Ashram official said.

Hriday Kunj is a room on the Ashram premises where Mahatma Gandhi and his wife Kasturba Gandhi had lived for 12 years between 1918 and 1930.

The official said the US President would be briefed about Gandhiji and the importance of charkha as a symbol of self-reliance.

There will be a cultural extravaganza at the Motera stadium during the 'Namaste Trump' event, where Trump and Modi will address the gathering.

Bollywood singer Kailash Kher and some Gujarati folk singers will perform at the stadium, officials of the Gujarat Cricket Association said.

Students of various government and private schools have also been roped in to perform at cultural events and they have been practicing for days, an official said.

Billboards with slogans hailing Indo-US relations and having pictures of Trump and Modi walking together, shaking hands, and waving at the crowd during the 'Howdy Modi' event are dotting the city.
