Under-19 and Under-16 cricketers selected for KSCA Academy coaching

Mangalore, April 6: Karnataka State Cricket Association Mangalore Zone has announced the list of Under-19 and Under-16 players selected for the KSCA Academy coaching camps.

The camps are scheduled to be held simultaneously in Mangalore, Manipal, Madikeri and Gonikoppa from April 9.

In Madikeri and Gonikoppa, more players will be selected before the start of the camp, a KSCA spokesperson said.

Many players could not attend the selection trials due to examinations in these areas.

Bengaluru, Feb 28: Bengaluru Police Commissioner Bhaskar Rao on Friday said that Section 144 will be imposed near Vidhana Soudha for Budget session starting from March 2.

"Section 144 of the CrPC (prohibits assembly of more than 4 people in an area) will be imposed in the area around Vidhana Soudha from March 2 to March 31 ahead of the Budget session,"Bhaskar Rao said.

The police said that they have intelligence inputs of protests near Vidhana Soudha.

Bengaluru, Jul 15: Karnataka on Wednesday reported 3,176 new cases taking the total count of cases in the state to 47,253.

A total of 1,975 new cases were reported from the Bengaluru alone, the state's health department said.

The toll has gone up to 928 with 87 deaths reported today.

The total count of COVID-19 cases in the country is 9,36,181.

Mangaluru, Feb 13: Jnandev Kamath, former President of erstwhile Mangalore Stock Exchange Limited died late last night in a private hospital in the city.

He was 65 and is survived by his wife and two daughters.

Jnandev Kamath was an alumnus of SDM College of Law and Business Management. 

He was one the founding members of Mangalore Stock Exchange Limited. He was an avid sportsman, an accomplished cricketer, a champion rallyist and golf coach. 

He often played for Pentlandpet Sports Association (PPSA) in his younger days.
