New Delhi, Aug 3: The Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government has made it clear that no links between any terrorist group and the foundation headed by Islamic preacher Dr Zakir Naik have come to its notice yet.

1naikIn a written reply, Minister of State for Home, Hansraj Ahir, informed the Lok Sabha on Tuesday that some media reports indicated that some known terrorists have reportedly been inspired by Dr Naik. However, investigations so far in this regard could not find any evidence against the internationally acclaimed orator.

The minister also said that Dr Naik's Peace TV was not a permitted satellite channel for transmission on the cable network and hence should not be carried by cable operators.

"Islamic Research Foundation is registered under the Foreign Contributions Regulations Act, 2010. Foreign contributions and their utilisation is checked and in case of violations, action taken under the provisions of the Act," he said.

On July 28, the government had told the Rajya Sabha that complaints were received recently that Peace TV was being shown by some cable operators in Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh and Aurangabad in Maharashtra and details were provided to the district authorities for action.

Zakeer Naik has more Fans - Hindus, Christians than Muslims.
His Fans are mostly highly educated, intellectuals.

He never advocates hatreds, animosities. He says truth which are wrongly practiced not following their own respective scripts like Veda, Geethas.
His knowledge in Hindu scripts are more than any common Swamees, pandiths.

Dear venki,
Your statement shows how much innocent you are. How you can compare prachi with Zakir? Did Zakir hate any religion? he is comapring the religions. He is showing what is in hindu scripts mentioned and what you are practising. Example, in vedas it clearly mention that idol worship should not be done. How many of us worshipping Idol? Did Prachi talk about Veda any time? If you listen her speeches it is spitting venom.

He has working, serving the people even with his all wealth, without seeking any personnel benefit. He has been doing it at least last 30-35years as I know it.

It would have not taken this much time to find any irregular activity if he has been committing such.
If does not need much time to know any anti social activity.

He is very much openly operating his activities obeying all the norms.
He is more popular in Europe and US, other countries than in India.

For some people it is very much difficult to digest his popularity and his fair activities.
Unfortunately those Sanghi brothern or Sanghi sympathizers can understand that he is rescuing them from their unknown mistakes.
Whatever he is doing he is not seeking any worldly benefit.
He has a strong faith in God, his sincere efforts will be rewarded in the other permanent life (which will be after death).
Really every Indian should thank God Almighty for bestowing such sincere person.
May God help us to understand truth and Guide us.

Bengaluru, Jun 30: Private medical colleges in Bengaluru have agreed to join hands with the Karnataka government for the treatment of COVID-19 patients.

The representatives from private medical colleges have promised the state government to provide 2000 beds immediately and another 4500 beds will be added within a week.

The development took place as Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Tuesday held a second round of meeting with representatives of private hospitals at Vidhana Soudha over COVID-19.

The Chief Minister and Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar held separate meetings with the representatives from private colleges administration and all the private colleges have assured to extend their support to the government decision.

"There are 11 private and three government medical colleges in the city and we will get about 6500 beds from these for COVID treatment," Dr Sudhakar informed media after the meeting.

He further said, "These facilities including doctors and staff will be made available to the government within a week and the beds will be allocated to COVID patients through BBMP's centralised system. The insurance facility will be extended to the doctors and staff serving in these private hospitals also."

PG students in private medical colleges and other staff will be utilised in COVID Care Centres, the minister said.

"There will be some changes in the treatment protocols going forward. The decision regarding this will be taken in the meeting that will be held in the evening under the chairmanship of the CM," the minister explained.

According to him, symptomatic patients, persons aged above 60 years and those with comorbidities like diabetes, hypertension and serious kidney, liver, lungs and heart-related ailments will be admitted to hospitals.

Other asymptomatic persons will be monitored in COVID care centres. Detailed notification with these guidelines will be released tomorrow, the minister said.

The meeting was chaired by CM BS Yediyurappa and Deputy CM Ashwatnarayana, Ministers Basavaraj Bommai, R Ashoka and senior officials were also present.

Kolkatta, Mar 19: A local leader of BJP has been arrested for organising a cow urine consumption event in Kolkata, claiming that it will protect people from coronavirus or cure those already infected, leading to a civic volunteer falling ill after drinking it.

The police said that 40-year-old Narayan Chatterjee, who had on Monday organised a cow worship programme at a cowshed and distributed cow urine, was arrested following a complaint filed by the victim.

He had vouched for its "miraculous" properties while offering gaumutra to others.

A civic volunteer, who was on duty near the cow shed also consumed gaumutra and fell sick on Tuesday, following which he lodged a complaint with the police against Chatterjee.

Reacting to the arrest, the state BJP leadership criticised the state government.

"Chatterjee had distributed cow urine, but he didn't fool people in consuming it. When he distributed it he clearly said it was cow urine, he didn't force anyone to drink it. It has not been proved whether it is harmful or not.

"So how can just police arrest him without any reason. This is completely undemocratic," state BJP General Secretary Sayantan Basu said.

West Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh has said there is no harm in drinking cow urine and he has no qualms in admitting he consumes it.

His party colleague and MP Locket Chatterjee, however, differed, terming it an "unscientific belief" that should be shunned.

The cow urine distribution as a cure for coronavirus had drawn sharp criticism from the doctors.

Bengaluru, Jun 20: The Karnataka Health Department has issued guidelines on the admission of COVID-19 patients in private hospitals after clinical assessment, mandating that the district surveillance officer (DSO) should be first informed to initiate further procedures, an official said on Friday.

"A health team sent by the DSO should visit the home or hospital where the patient is staying. The team should conduct a rapid assessment of his or her health condition," said Karnataka's Additional Chief Secretary Jawaid Akhtar.

In the rapid health condition assessment, the team should first check the patient's body temperature, followed by SpO2 (oxygen saturation) level and confirm if there are any comorbidities such as hypertension, diabetes, tuberculosis, HIV, cancer, stroke etc.

Depending on the health condition of patients, Akhtar said, two categories have been made.

"Those who have body temperature greater than 37.5 degrees Celsius, SpO2 level below 94 percent, elderly (above 60 years) and suffering from known comorbid conditions should be taken to a dedicated Covid hospital (DCH)," he said.

"All other patients, even if older but not suffering from co-morbidities, those below 60 and suffering from co-morbidities and asymptomatic cases should be taken to a dedicated Covid health centre (DCHC) or a private hospital as opted by the patient," he added.

Private hospitals have been asked to pitch in due to the rising number of cases in Karnataka. Currently, there are 2943 active cases in the state after 337 cases were reported on Friday.

"The patients are assessed clinically and evaluated at DCHCs or private hospitals with appropriate diagnostic tests. After evaluation, if the patients are asymptomatic, they are shifted to a COVID Care Centre (CCC) for further management," said Akhtar.

CCCs are expected to be equipped with ventilated rooms, pulse oximeters, handheld thermal scanners and blood pressure apparatus.

A nurse has to be present round the clock for every 50 patients and should visit each patient twice a day for assessment whereas the medical officer has to visit the CCC once a day. He should also be available on call in case of an emergency.

Staff serving food and others should wear personal protective equipment and an N-95 mask. Explaining the procedures at DCHCs, Akhtar said general examinations for medical conditions like body temperature, BP, pulse, oxygen saturation and urine output should be in place.

Investigations such as complete blood count, fasting blood sugar, random blood sugar, liver function tests, renal function tests, ECG and chest X-ray facilities should be available.

"DCHCs should ensure that above examinations are over in an orderly timeline of 24 hours and depending on the examination, the patient is continued to be lodged at the DCHC or sent to DCH or CCC," said the senior officer.

Likewise, the discharge policy should be done as per the protocols issued by the Health Department from time to time.

The Karnataka government is yet to fix an upper limit on the cost of treating COVID-19 patients in private hospitals. While reports indicated that this could be capped at Rs 5200 per day, health officials are yet to specify this is the case. Private hospitals in the state have asked the government to take a collaborative approach in deciding the fixed cap on treatment cost.
