Under-19 and Under-16 cricketers selected for KSCA Academy coaching

Mangalore, April 6: Karnataka State Cricket Association Mangalore Zone has announced the list of Under-19 and Under-16 players selected for the KSCA Academy coaching camps.

The camps are scheduled to be held simultaneously in Mangalore, Manipal, Madikeri and Gonikoppa from April 9.

In Madikeri and Gonikoppa, more players will be selected before the start of the camp, a KSCA spokesperson said.

Many players could not attend the selection trials due to examinations in these areas.

Udupi, Jan 14: The Udupi district police on Tuesday arrested two suspected terrorists at the Indrali railway station in Udupi.

The two, who had reportedly arrived from Kerala at around 6 ap.m., were standing at the Indrali railway station platform.

Suspicious of their behaviour, the police took them to custody and subjected them to interrogation.

According to reports the duo had involved in the murder of Tamil Nadu police Special Sub-Inspector Wilson.

However, top cop of the district has refused to comment regarding the arrest of the youths.

Manjeshwar, Aug 3: In a horrific incident, a man hacked four of his relatives to death at Bayar near Kaniala Gurukumeri in Manjeshwar taluk of Kasaragod district.

According to police, Udaya (40), a resident of Sudanbala, killed three of his maternal uncles and a maternal aunt who were staying together at a house at around 7:30 p.m. today. 

The deceased have been identified as Sadashiv (54), Vittal (52), Babu (50), and maternal Revati (58).

Locals caught him and handed him over to the police after tying his hands and legs. 

A preliminary investigation revealed that a familial clash led to the gruesome murder. A police team led by Kasargod DSP Balakrishnan are investigating the matter.

Bengaluru, Feb 25: In the view of 2nd PUC exams from March 4, the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has approved free travel for students from home to exam centre on Monday.

"BMTC has extended free travel facility to all PUC students from their residence to examination centre on production of exam hall/admission ticket," said a press note.

BMTC has been issuing student concessional passes to travel from their residence to college at concessional rates for the benefit of students.
