Kabaddi League – 2017: Trophy unveiled, jerseys launched

Jeddah: NRI Sports Federation, Jeddah hosted Jersey launching ceremony and unveiling of Kabaddi League - 2017 Trophy in a grand event held at Impala Garden Auditorium, Jeddah on February 25, 2017.

Team captains and managers of all the nine teams were present at the event which was organized prior to the Kabaddi League – 2017, which is to be held on March 10, 2017 in association with SACQO and Bhatkal Community Jeddah at Shababiya Ground, Prince Majid Street, Jeddah.

Delivering introductoryspeech Mr.Akbar Kalladka, general secretary of NRI Sports Federation said that the main objective of this federation is to promote rural games among Indian expatriates. He also thanked main Sponsor White Stone, Al Muzain, Expertise, Energia Al Faris and all Co-Sponsors who supported for the Kabaddi League to happen.

Mr.FaizalDamoodi, from Bhatkal Community and Mr. Mallappan, General Manager of Yusuf S. Al Rooq Trading Est., the chief guests of the event released Jersey and unveiled the trophies.

Captains of SACQO-Kalladka Warriors, Bhatkal Community Jeddah, White Stone-Nava Yuga, Energia-All is Well, Al Muzain-Knight Riders, Karavali Welfare Association Riyadh (KWAR), MANKY Community Jeddah and Jeddah Tamil Thunders were present on this occasion.
Anchor Mr. Mohammed Ali Muloor explained the rules and regulations of the league and proposed vote of thanks.

Dubai, Aug 7: ‘Nama Tuluve’ Purushotham Salian, a staunch stalwart who always supported humanity and a strong pillar for Tuluvas in Dubai, passed away August, 4 at Al Tawam Hospital Al Ain. He was suffering from cancer and was admitted to Al Tawam Hospital Al Ain some time ago. He was on the last stage of illness which was not detected earlier.

His funeral last rites were conducted on Thursday August 7 at Jebel Ali cemetery in Hindu rites with a few of his family members present. Due to Covid pandemic, neither his body was able to be flown back to hometown nor could his two children come down to attend the funeral. However, it was said that his wish was to be cremated here in Dubai which unknowingly sometime back he whispered to one of his friends.

Purushotham had few years ago, survived a heart attack and fought back his life, though it had a minor paralytic effect on him. Even though, till recently he used to do his day-to-day work normally. He was a hard working personality and owned a readymade garment shop in Ajman and Dubai mostly taking care of clients with requirement of uniforms and coveralls. His dedication towards work was always appreciated by his clients who used to get their things delivered on time always.

He was never a publicity person and was helping the poor and needy in whatever ways he could silently. He strongly supported the community and was associated with Nama Tuluveru and Billawa community with commitment. He used to voluntarily come forward for the ground work of various functions of the community and used to be there until it was done perfectly.

Dubai, May 20: Dubai-based Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club’s humanitarian services in charge Naseer Karaje team have appreciated the efforts of Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner, Mangaluru Airport director, NGOs of Mangaluru, and MLA for extending a royal welcome to second batch of repatriates from Dubai that landed at Mangaluru Airport on May 18.

There was so much of confusions when 1st batch of repatriation flight landed in Mangaluru airport on 12th May due to lack of proper arrangements and co ordination.

This time due to proper arrangements and special supervision by the DC everything was driven smoothly. It has given a confidence to all the Manglurean expats of Dubai in returning to their native places, the KSCC said.

Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club (KSCC) organized Blood Donation Camp at Latifa Hospital, Oud Mehta Dubai on April 23rd, 2020 in association with Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and with support from Community Development Authority (CDA) Government of Dubai.

Blood Donation Drive started in the morning at 7:30 am to 6:00 pm. Around 48 people participated in this drive and donated blood to support the Dubai Blood Bank.

A potential shortage of blood for transfusions has been occurred due to a significant reduction in voluntary blood donations during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic. The current pandemic, health services are now running with shortages of blood availability. To support the DHA Blood Bank KSCC taken initiative to ensure that blood donations continued and are safe for both the donor and the recipient.

After taking safety precaution and safe distance during the blood donation donors feeling happy and honored to participate and donate blood at this pandemic situation. Club Manager Mr. Mohammad Shafi was also present during this event.

KSCC appreciated all the blood donors and be grateful to Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Community Development Authority (CDA), and Government of Dubai for their association for this event. They also thanked the volunteers and supporters.
