Protest or celebration? Hindutva agitators dance as RSS activist battles for life

Mangaluru, Jul 7: The saffron activists not only violated the prohibitory orders and stage a ‘protest’ at BC Road in Bantwal taluk on Friday but also lifted RSS veteran Prabhakar Bhat Kalladka up, raised victory slogans and danced on the road.

In fact, the protest was organised by the Hindu Hitarakshana Vedike in the wake of recent murder attempt on an RSS activist in BC Road. 28-year-old Sharat, who was brutally stabbed by the anti-social elements last Tuesday, is still in a critical condition.

However, the bizarre attitude of the protesters who lifted Mr Bhat, danced and waved victory sign while many BJP leaders including Udupi MP Shobha Karandlaje and Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel courted arrest, created an awkward atmosphere.

As soon as the photos and videos of the so called protest went viral on social media, the trollers started making fun of the agitators. While some questioned whether the saffron activists were celebrating the cowardly attack on RSS activist, others slammed them for “disrespecting” the victim.

“Anti-social elements brutally stabbed an RSS activist in BC Road. A Muslim man shifted him to hospital while saffron activists hesitated to touch the victim. Now, the same saffron activists are dancing. What a shame!” wrote a local resident on her Facebook wall.

“Sharat’s condition is worsening in hospital. His family is shell-shocked. Unfortunately, those who organised protest in his name are celebrating,” lamented another local resident.

Ban PFI ? Is it a solution? They are lakhs of PFI members in Karnataka alone leave alone India.

They will join or make a new group or name.

Provocative speech by RSS leaders, Gou BD lynchers , arms carrying terrorist camp organiser Sri ram sena . If the police and the political camps had taken care of them long time ago , our beautiful Mangalore would remain peaceful.

Lack of political will from Congress banning and barring hateful speech is the main cause. Don't let Karnataka turn into hinduvta laboratory.

Take care of RSS, PFI also will disappear.

Bengaluru, June 27: In the wake of mounting covid-19 cases across Karnataka, the state government has decided to extend the night curfew hours and to re-impose Sunday lockdown.

Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa held an emergency meeting on Saturday with the state's top officials to discuss measures to further contain the spread of the novel coronavirus.

During the meeting, it was decided that a state-wide lockdown will be imposed on each Sunday starting July 5. Only essential services and supplies will be allowed on Sundays.

Timings of the night curfew have also been revised to 8 PM - 5 AM from the earlier 9 PM - 5 AM. “We have decided to impose a curfew starting Monday, June 29, from 8 pm to 5 am every day. Right now, the curfew timing is 9 pm to 5 am, but it’ll be advanced by an hour to 8 pm,” said Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai

Commissioner of Bengaluru's civic body, BBMP has been directed to set up more wholesale vegetable markets to deter large crowds.

Meanwhile, government offices in Karnataka will open only five days a week and the weekend will be off for government employees.

It was also decided during the meeting on Saturday that a centralized bed-allocation system for Covid-19 patients will be taken up to ensure that each patient gets a bed without overwhelming the healthcare infrastructure.

Yediyurappa has also instructed officials to increase the number of ambulances for Covid-19 patients to 250 apart from arranging separate vehicles to carry mortal remains of victims. The police control room will aid officials in identifying the location and easing the movement of ambulances.

Information about nodal officers working for COVID management will be published. Joint Commissioners of 8 regions will be given additional responsibilities and KAS officers will be appointed to assist them.

The services of 180 ESI doctors appointed by the Labour Department will also be relied on by the state government. CM Yediyurappa has also asked officials to reserve wedding halls, hostels and other institutions in Bengaluru as COVID Care Centres.

Bengaluru Urban DC, on the other hand, was instructed to identify more places for the last rites of patients and also to form more teams for this purpose.

The BBMP Commissioner has been told to notify reservation of 50 per cent beds in medical colleges and private hospitals.

Bengaluru, Mar 31: Bengaluru Central Crime Branch on Tuesday seized as many as 1,000 fake N95 masks amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

However, the police are yet to make arrests in the case.

Investigation in the case is underway and more details in this regard are awaited.

Recently, Noida Sub-Divisional Magistrate with a team from the Health department busted a fake sanitiser and mask factory.

Notably, the Central government recently had brought masks and hand sanitisers under the Essential Commodities Act up to June 30 as the novel coronavirus pandemic led to shortages and black marketing of these items.

Any person found guilty under the Act may be punished with imprisonment up to seven years or fine or both and can be detained for a maximum of six months.
