Bengaluru, Oct 12: Narendra Babu Sharma, a junior artiste-turned-astrologer, who gained popularity through astrological TV programmes, has predicted that JD(S) Karnataka state president HD Kumaraswamy would become the chief minister of the state.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of Haasanamba Temple in Hassan, the self-styled spiritual guru, said that the state will witness another coalition government and Kumaraswamy will be the next CM or the kingmaker in the upcoming election.

“Kumaraswamy should overcome the mistakes that he has done in the past. He should listen to his father HD Deve Gowda and also there is a huge support for Kumaraswamy across Karnataka, “ he added.

It is worth mentioning here that Narendra Babu Sharma had gained immense popularity as ‘Brahmanda Guruji’ among lower class people in Karnataka through his so-called astrological programme called ‘Brahmanda’ on Kasturi TV channel, run by Kumaraswam’s official wife Anitha.

Nobody can predict any unscientific things other than God.

Perhaps a scientist can say if it can be rain tomorrow or after 3days.

He can predict ambient temperature to a certain accuracy rate.

But he can not say anybody's luck.

People should not fall prey to such Babas.....

Bengaluru, July 31: Denying irregularities in covid-19 equipment purchase by the Karnataka government, the state unit of the BJP has issued legal notices to Congress leaders Siddaramaiah and D K Shivakumar demanding that they apologize or face a defamation suit.

The notices seek a public apology for the allegations levelled against the government on irregularities in the procurement of Covid-19 equipment and supplies.

Both Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar, the Karnataka Congress president, have been doggedly pursuing allegations of corruption against the BJP government and have demanded a judicial inquiry.

BJP general secretary N Ravi Kumar said that while the Congress leaders claimed that Rs 4,157 crore was spent during Covid-19, they also allege that the government has not responded to any of the 20 letters written by them. "If the government has not provided any answer to the Opposition, where did they get the figures from," he said.

None of the allegations of corruption is specific and the statements made are factually incorrect. "These statements, without any basis, have been issued calculatedly to lower the image and damage the reputation of the government, the Bharatiya Janata Party, representatives of the party and the ministers in the government," the notice issued on behalf of Ravi Kumar read.

Mangaluru, Jan 13: A truck parked at the site of protest against the new citizenship law and National Register of Citizens (NRC) at Deralakatte on the outskirts of the city was charred down to ashes after it was set on fire by miscreants, police said here on Monday.

Police said that Deralakatte Citizenship Protection Committee had organised a protest rally against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) here on Sunday. After the rally concluded, a few unidentified miscreants set the vehicle on fire.

The incident resulted in chaos, causing panic among the locals who informed the police immediately.

Condemning the incident, the local unit of Popular Front of India has claimed that the incident was an attempt by saffronist goons to disrupt peace and trigger communal riot in the region. It has urged the police to nab the accused immediately without yielding to any political pressure.
