Bengaluru, Oct 22: Union minister of state for Skill Development and Uttara Kannada MP Ananth Kumar Hegde on Saturday warned chief minister Siddaramaiah against printing his name in 'Tipu Jayanthi' invitation and said that he would disclose the complete details of the ruler on the stage. He was talking to the media person in Sirsi.

Hegde said, "This year also I have asked chief minister to not to print my name in Tipu Jayanti celebration. If they still go ahead in printing my name by citing protocol, I would attend the event and shout slogan against the ruler on the stage. I will disclose the bad history of Tipu in front of Siddaramaiah only. I would dare him to stop me if he can."

Along with Anant Kumar Hegde, few other BJP leaders have also demanded not to print their name in the invitation.

Communal ideology was kept in the freezer for more than 70 years by Nehru and Congress.  Because of its Secular credentials, India got good name and fame in the world.  Also India is developed much better than its neigbors under the Congress rule.  Now the Communal forces are  started to come out but mean time it is out dated.  People do not want division in the name of religion and silly politics.  We are not going to achieve anything by commenting on history nor we cannot blame any one what is happened in the history.  What people need is : Good Hospitals, Schools and colleges, Electricity, Jobs, Good Roads - People need peaceful and comfortable life.  Not this hell kind of Beef, Mandir Masjid politics.   Any party should realize, people will vote for them just by raising these issues, they are only dreaming.  Remember people voted Modi for Development not for Hindu Muslim politics.  Any governemnt, please concentrate only on providing peaceful and comfortable life for the citizens of India.  Nobody interested in Silly politics.  Ultimately people will vote only to those who brings developments and non corrupt.

Mumbai, May 30: Former Bollywood actress Zaira Wasim has deleted her Twitter and Instagram accounts after being heavily trolled for quoting from the Quran while talking about locust attacks.

"So We sent upon them the flood and locusts and lice and frogs and blood: Signs openly self explained: but they were steeped in arrogance -- a people given to sin. --Qur'an 7:133," Zaira had tweeted.

Soon, she started receiving hateful comments from netizens who interpreted her post as a justification of the locust attacks. They felt that Zaira was suggesting that the incident is God's way of expressing wrath.

Shortly after being deluged with such comments, Zaira Wasim deleted her Twitter and Instagram accounts.

However, a section of netizens continue to attack Zaira on her Facebook page, where she put up the same post.

Commenting on the post, a user wrote: "Lady you must have taken into account of those people of JK, Kerala and elsewhere who are also suffering from the virus. Moreover the crops which are damaged by locust had no name as to who will consume them. In this hours of crisis please post something which is positive and reflects your education."

Another user shared: "So according to you, with all due respect every year on the same time period, Allah send locust to India to destroy the crops of poor farmers who are not even involve in the industrial rise, who don't use vehicle to destroy the nature, and Allah send locust only to harm the poor farmers and not the rich one who actually destroy nature."

"So those farmers who lost there fields of crops and will probably go into debt and may also commit suicide, those farmers who feed the nation, who feed you and every one, are sinners?" asked yet another user.

However, there were a few on social media who felt Zaira had done nothing wrong.

"Quoting Quranic Verse is not a crime... Why is every Indian abusing @ZairaWasimmm. She didn't mention any particular nation or religion. I request everyone please stand with #ZairaWasim. She needs our support. #ISupportZairaWasim," goes a tweet.

Mangaluru, Jun 3: The district administrations of Dakshina Kannada and Kasaragod have issued standard operating procedures (SOP) for the movement of people between two neighbouring districts that fall under two different states.

Even though thousands of people used to commute between these two districts due to employment, education and other reasons every day, the travel has been banned for over two months due to covid lockdown.

Dakshina Kannada DC Sindhu B Rupesh has assured that travel passes will be issued for working professionals/students who have to commute every day.

Those who wish to travel to DK district from Kasargod have to register on https://bit.ly/dkdpermit for daily pass.

The pass applicant should mention the travel destinations, and the complete work address in DK. He/she should also upload Aadhaar card, proof of workplace. On receipt of the applications, the AC of Mangaluru division will issue the pass which will be valid till June 30.

The DC said that the pass details will be recorded at Talapady check post daily. Those who fail to report during the exit from Dakshina Kannada will be subjected to quarantine by the taluk administration and penal action will be initiated as per Epidemic Act, she warned.

Thermal screening of all persons entering DK will be conducted at the checkpost. Only those who are asymptomatic will be allowed to enter.

As per the SOP issued by Kasargod District Collector, those who wish to commute between these two districts have to register in COVID-19 Jagratha portal under the emergency pass category and the applicant has to mention the reason as “inter-state travel on a daily basis."
