Bengaluru, Nov 12: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), which had earlier accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of tampering Electronic Voting Machines in Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls, has now demanded that Election Commission of India use ballot papers in 2018 Karnataka Assembly polls.

Addressing a media conference in Kalaburgi recently, Marasandra Muniyappa, State Coordinator of the party, said that “EVM tampering” by BJP was the only reason for his party’s defeat in Uttar Pradesh. “The BJP is capable of doing the same in Karnataka too,” he said.

He said: “Nowhere in the world, except in India, are EVMs used in elections, as there is a possibility of tampering with them. It is ‘EVM tampering’ alone that led to our defeat in Uttar Pradesh. Tampering with was not done in Punjab, Goa, Manipur and Uttarakhand that went to the polls, with Uttar Pradesh. It was done only in Uttar Pradesh as it had become an issue of prestige for the BJP to record a victory there,” he said. He added that his party approached the court as it had sufficient evidence to establish ‘EVM tampering’, he said.

Mr. Muniyappa exuded the confidence of winning at least 25 seats in the upcoming Assembly election in Karnataka. “We were in second or third places in five constituencies in the last election. We have built our party structure at grass-roots level and expanded our mass base in many constituencies,” he said.

For a clear mandate and to stop  politicans bribe and criminal activity  voting to be conducted by Ballot Paper syestem in Karnataka State. What ever happend in UP;Goa; Punjab is not the matter and no need to compare with Karnataka state election. Both leading party at Karnataka may play their money power and here highy possibility is from bjp.

Hence to keep value on our franchise all need to prefer Ballot system and boycot EVM. Not need to trust with even election commission. Any how they are looting and misused tax payers money. Bengaluru, Jul 2: Senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge said that the "RSS needs to be defeated to save the country" and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah are "destroying the nation".

Kharge was speaking at a KPCC program where DK Shivakumar took charge as state Congress president.

He said that the Prime Minister and the Home Minister are not ready to take accountability for any issues including China, and are instead blaming Rajiv Gandhi Foundation of getting funds from China.

"Rajiv Gandhi foundation utilized funds for the development of the nation and for the betterment of the downtrodden people," Kharge said.

"Prime Minister Modi and Shah both are destroying the economy of the nation, and their policies and plans are the reason for increasing COVID-19 situation in India," he said.

"Prime Minister and Amit Shah never listen to Opposition parties, instead they plan something and their policies are the reason for MSME losses and job losses in the country," he added.

Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 24: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday said that there is no community spread or the expected phase three spread of coronavirus in the state so far but the threat continues.

Speaking to media persons here on Thursday, Vijayan said that Kasargod, Kannur, Kozhikode, and Malappuram districts will be in the red zone with full restrictions.

"All the other ten districts in the State will be in the orange zone. With the detection of new cases today, the status of Kottayam and Idukki districts have been changed from green to orange. The district administration will decide on the hotspot areas to be closed," he said.

He said there would be an increase in the number of random tests in the red zones.

"In an effort to confirm that there is no community spread in the State, random antibody tests would be conducted among health workers, police personnel, home delivery persons, volunteers and migrant labourers," he added.

The Chief Minister said that COVID-19 labs set up at the Pariyaram Government Medical College at Kannur and the Kottayam Medical College have got the approval from the ICMR for coronavirus testing. The lab at Kannur Medical College will start functioning from Friday.

The UV sterilised lab, spread over 2,200 sq ft is equipped with four real-time PCR machines. In the first phase, this lab will be able to do 15 tests per day, which will be gradually increased to conduct 60 tests in the next phase.

"With the opening of these two new labs, tests to detect COVID-19 will be conducted in 14 government labs in Kerala. Apart from this, there are two private labs also in Kerala which are doing these tests. Since the number of coronavirus cases is again increasing in the State, the government has decided to procure ten real-time PCR machines to ramp up testing," he added.
