I don’t want a terrorist in my family: Hadiya’s father on her decision to go with Muslim husband

K M Asokan, a Kerala based man, who had kept his daughter Akhila alias Hadiya under house arrest and allegedly tortured her for embracing Islam and marrying a Muslim man, has continued to call his Muslim son-in-law a terrorist.

However, Asokan said that he would not oppose Supreme Court’s decision to allow Hadiya to return to her college to continue her studies.

Asked about his stance on Hadiya’s decision to go with her husband Shafin Jahan, an angry Asokan said that he could not have a terrorist in the family.

"I cannot have a terrorist in the family. Hadiya does not have any idea about Syria, where she wanted to go after getting converted to Islam," said Asokan, who had portrayed Hadiya’s marriage as a case of so called love jihad.

However, Hadiya has repeatedly clarified that neither she nor her husband wanted to go Syria. She also said that she doesn’t even have a passport to move out of the country.

The Supreme Court yesterday freed Hadiya from the custody of her parents and sent her to college to pursue her studies, even as she pleaded that she should be allowed to be with her husband.

This passage has always been quoted out of context and never post other verses 9:1-14,  If they did, people would find out that it says the opposite of what they claim. Read from 9:1 – 9:14,

Islam never says to kill non-believers and this wording is related to pagans at the time of renovation. Quran is not an ordinary book. To understand the quran better you need to study Hadith and history. Dear brother Rudra I really appreciate your quote and I advise you to study more and more about islam to find truth. May Almighty Allah Guide you and your family in a right way. May Allah bless you if he wishes. Insha halla

Dear Asokan, dont trust on sanghis who are trying to brain wash you.  Whatever you have stated is wrong.  Your daughter has no passport to go out of india.   Secondly your son-in-law is not a terrorist but those sanghis who are brain washing are the real terrorists who killed Bapuji.

All claims, no proof.

Kill unbelievers where you find them. koran 9:5

Do you dare to deny it? Do you follow it ? pseudo muslim.

I agree with you whatever legal points of view expressed. Hadiya is matured, educated lady and free to convert, believe and marry the boy of her choice.

There is another face to this, which also to be a face of parents! irrespective of Ashokan's Sangh parivar leanings, keep in mind that he is father of Hadiya. They born & bought up her for 24 years and all of sudden they lost her! How their agony, misery and sufferings will be? Just keep us in his place and think, don’t we require little introspection?

Mr.Ashokan Miscerabley failed to prove his claim as said! now even the supereme court allowed Hadiya to meet Mr.Shafin Jahan! the above statement is out of his frustration he maight have said. Now a days it is very easy to paint some one as terrorist , and some as nationalist! media and some Govt. agency under RSS control anything may happen in future as they decide who is nationalist and who is anti national!

Every one misunderstood that accepting islam is just taking membership. Islam is way of Life proved scientifically and logically. It is just way of Life. any one can learn Islam and practise it. It is open and no body will force to accept islam. It is choice to practise Law defined by Our creator.  No body wil be a True Muslim unless he practice the way of life defined by creator. increasing membership in islam no use.  Every one should understand their creator and obey him. It is very simple and beautiful. If any one understand the principles of Islam. automatically he will attract. and identify his creator. Only our creator can read our mind  and understand true believer. by name we cannot say he is true beleiver.

"If thousands of crminals escape also no innocent should be punished"

"one should not eat full if neighbour is starving"

what a beautiful teaching. We pray Al mighty Allah shows right path for all human being.

He has the rights to object to the marriage but, can't call a man terrorist.

Drag him to court of law for defamation.

Bengaluru, Jan 8: The second instalment of flood relief funds from the Centre, announced on Monday, has left BS Yediyurappa less than cheerful, with the chief minister insisting that it is barely adequate. The CM on Tuesday said he will urge the Union government to release more.

On Monday, the Centre announced it will release Rs 669.8 crore in addition to the Rs 1,200 crore it had released earlier towards flood relief and rehabilitation. The total sum is a small fraction of the loss, which the government pegged at a staggering Rs 38,000 crore.

“The Centre has released assistance in two instalments so far, but it is inadequate given the magnitude of the damage. I will request for more funds and I am confident the Centre will oblige,” Yediyurappa told reporters.

When Prime Minister Narendra Modi had visited the state last week, Yediyurappa had urged him — even openly at a function — to release funds. This followed several pleas over the past four months, which barely drew a response from the Centre. Now, the CM himself suggests it’s barely a drop in the ocean.

The opposition has been criticizing both Yediyurappa and the Centre for their handling of the situation and on Tuesday, leader of the opposition Siddaramaiah of the Congress criticised the CM for “misguiding people” on the sum released by the Centre.

Siddaramaiah tweeted, “Reports from State govt officials say only Rs 669 cr of addl funds are released in 2nd instalment as opposed to the claim of Rs 1,870 cr by Karnataka BJP leaders. At a time when manufacturing industries are closing, BJP’s fake news factory is running at full potential ".

In another tweet, he said, “Moved by the plea of chief minister, Yediyurappa, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released an additional Rs 669.8 crore, taking the total amount to Rs 1,869.8 crore. BJP leaders, who are devotees of the god of lies, attempts to depict the total relief amount as 1200+1869.85 = Rs 3,069 cr is ridiculous.”

A high-level committee chaired by Union home minister Amit Shah had sanctioned the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) funds on Monday. While the Press Information Bureau claimed Rs 1,869 crore was approved on Monday, state government officials clarified that the figure included the Rs 1,200 crore released in October.

Meanwhile, sources say the two instalments is all the assistance the state can expect from the Centre towards flood relief. Sources say the Rs 1,870 crore is roughly 60% of the funding — Rs 3,000 cr— which was supposed to be allocated for Karnataka, based on an inter-ministerial team’s assessment of losses in the state.

“Compared to other states for the same period, Karnataka has received the highest amount in flood relief. We cannot expect more,” said a revenue department official, who said the government will not approach the Centre for a special package.

However, revenue minister R Ashoka said the state will pitch for the entire Rs 3,000 crore. “The state government will pursue the matter with the Centre until it releases the entire Rs 3,000 crore. The state government will cover the remainder of the Rs 38,000 crore loss. We will not go back on our word,” Ashoka said. Incidentally, the state has spent about Rs 6,000 crore on relief and rehabilitation so far.

New Delhi, Feb 20: The Supreme Court on Thursday stayed the non-bailable warrants issued against the state Director General of Police (DGP) and Inspector General of Police (IGP) by the Karnataka High Court.

A bench of Chief Justice SA Bobde stayed the non-bailable warrants while hearing a plea filed by the Karnataka government.

Earlier today, the apex court had agreed to hear the matter today itself after Solicitor General Tushar Mehta mentioned the matter before it.

Tushar Mehta had pointed that Home Secretary has been asked by the High Court to execute the non-bailable warrants and said that this order is "unusual".

Karnataka High Court had earlier issued non-bailable warrants against the top cops in a case.

Bengaluru, Mar 8: Lieutenant General Milind Hemant Thakur, Director-General of Supply and Transport Corps of the Indian Army, unveiled the renovated Animal Memorial at Agram Grounds in ASC Centre and College here on Saturday.

The animal memorial signifies the contributions of mules and horses of the Indian Army. These animals belonging to the Army Service Corps, who have rendered their services relentlessly during the war in the Himalayas, often paying the highest price of sacrificing their lives in the line of duty have been chronicled in the Memorial.

To ensure that these hoof prints do not get obliterated, on approval by the Government of India, their saga was brought to life in the form of a sculptured monument in the Equestrian Training Area of the ASC Centre and College.

This animal transport memorial has now been extended by constructing two walls supported by Roman pillars on either side.

These walls highlight the role played by the animals in the Indian Army since the British Raj. It gives details of 637 gallantry awards won by the brave muleteers, 49 battle casualties since independence, 14 gallantry awards to mules since independence and 05 military recognitions bestowed by the Chief of the Army Staff and other Army Commanders on AT units, who have been relied upon heavily to fill an important niche in the logistics networks of the Indian Army.

Gen Thakur also declared that 26 September each year has been nominated as the AT Remembrance Day as it was on this day in 1914, that 9th mule Corps, as part of the Indian Expeditionary Force, landed at Marseilles in France, to a most hearty and enthusiastic welcome by the French to support the British and allied armies in World War One.
