Hubballi, Dec 2: A senior leader of Rashtriya Swayamsevaka Sangha has charged that Saint Mother Teresa was indulged in conversion activities under the pretext of service.

Mangesh Bhende, the Akhila Bharateeya Vyavastha Pramukh of RSS also accused her of collecting money in 17 countries by portraying India under a bad light.

Speaking at the inauguration of 'Seva Sangam Karnataka-2017' programme of the Rashtriya Seva Bharati in Hubballi on Friday, he stated that Sister Nirmala who heads the Missionaries of Charity was also a Hindu earlier.

"Many people are proud of Mother Teresa for taking up service initiatives and starting around 500 service centres. But, she projected Indians as poor and illiterate to collect money from foreign countries. She was indulged in conversion activities, promising people that they would attain heavenly abode," Mr Bhende said.

He went on to claim that in the name of charity, Christian Missionaries are trying for conversion, and are trying to spoil the culture of our country.

“The so called service of government employees, politicians and Christian Missionaries are not service in actuality. Service should be selfless, and doing service without expecting anything in return is the essence of our religion,” he added.

This RSS leader has lost his memory power and talking sense.  It will be better to admit him in a mental hospital soon.   Whatever he is alleging is baseless and is attacking on a saint.   He should be booked and punished for attacking on the nobility of a Godly Nun.

Bengaluru, Mar 2: Killing an Indian porcupine and inviting his TikTok followers to view it proved costly for a 25-year-old man from Kalaburagi. Forest department officials tracked him down and arrested him on Sunday morning.

Manjunath Biryalhissa, a resident of Jewargi taluk, was famous for his various TikTok videos and for lifting heavy stones in his village and neighbouring areas.

According to forest officials, on Friday, Manjunath and his friends caught a porcupine in Sindagi range, Vijayapura and stoned it to death. Later, they fried and cooked it. Manjunath then made an 18-second video, where he spoke about the porcupine hunt and slaughter, besides inviting his followers to like the video and join him in the feast.

The video was on TikTok and Facebook. Wildlife activists who found the video alerted forest department officials.

“Porcupine comes under schedule four of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972. Keeping this video as evidence we were able to trace him through his Facebook account, where he had shared details of his hometown,” said forest officials.

Bengaluru, Jan 1: Former Karnataka Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition Siddaramaiah on Wednesday slammed the Centre on the issue of fare hike announcement by Indian Railways.

"Increase in Train fares is a New Year gift by Narendra Modi government to common people," Siddaramaiah tweeted.

"This will further dent the developmental prospects as Railways form a backbone of Transportation. Instead, the govt should have gifted us the values of our Constitution by upholding it," he added.
