Panaji, Dec 16: Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha on Saturday urged Indian entrepreneurs to develop products and services that will solve "the problems of our very own".

India must create its own success stories on the lines of global giants such as Google, Alibaba or Tencent, he said.

"When we solve India's problems, we will solve world's problems as well. We should solve the problems of our very own," Sinha said, speaking at 'India Ideas Conclave 2017', organised by India Foundation in Panaji.

Indian entrepreneurs should develop products and services for domestic needs, he said.

"Because if we develop it for our people, same products and services will be used in all other places," Sinha said, adding that "if we want to be the leader of 21st century, India has to become entrepreneurial engine."

India has already proved itself in various sectors, the Union minister said.

"India has the cheapest and best telecom services, motorcycles....There is a revolution happening in front of us.

India today consumes more mobile data than any other country including China," Sinha said.

"We have to create our own Googles, Facebooks, Alibabas and Tencents," he said.

"We talk about `unicorn'. It is a company with market capitalisation of one billion dollars. We should not be satisfied talking about unicorns, we should talk about super unicorns with the market of ten billion dollars. We should not be satisfied with the idea of super unicorns, we should think how to build mega unicorns with the market capitalisation of hundred billion dollars," the minister said.

"If we build companies of that scale, we will have economic leadership, that's how we will give economic opportunities to all our people," Sinha said.

Kochi, Jan 11: Two of the four illegal apartment complexes were brought down by controlled implosion here on Saturday.

However, the other two apartments-- Golden Kayaloram and Jain Coral-- will be demolished on Sunday.

The demolition of the first building Holy Faith H2O, slated to be carried out at 11 am, was delayed by 18 minutes while the twin towers of Alfa Serene, which is surrounded by 36 houses, were brought down at 11.43 am.

As per authorities, as many as 343 kgs of explosives were used for the demolition of twin towers of Alfa Serene, which had 80 apartments and 16 floors each.

Section 144 has been imposed within a 200-metre radius of the complexes on Saturday and Sunday. Moreover, traffic has been halted on land, water and air in the evacuation zone during the process.

There are concerns that some concrete pieces of the second tower of the building may have fallen into the lake nearby. It is yet to be estimated if the debris or concrete pieces have affected the buildings nearby.

The four apartment complexes in Maradu were ordered to be demolished by the Supreme Court for violating the Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) norms.

May 13: Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram on Wednesday mocked the prime minister's announcement of a Rs 20 lakh crore financial package as a "headline and blank page", and said he was looking forward to the finance minister filling the blank page.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday announced massive new financial incentives on top of the previously announced packages for a combined stimulus of Rs 20 lakh crore.

Chidambaram said he would count every additional rupee the government infuses into the economy and examine what the poor, hungry and devastated migrant workers get after walking hundreds of kilometres to their home states.

"Yesterday, PM gave us a headline and a blank page. Naturally, my reaction was a blank!

"Today, we look forward to the FM filling the blank page. We will carefully count every ADDITIONAL rupee that the government will actually infuse into the economy," he said on Twitter.

The former finance minister said "We will also carefully examine who gets what?".

"And the first thing we will look for is what the poor, hungry and devastated migrant workers can expect after they have walked hundreds of kilometres to their home states.

"We will also examine what the bottom half of the population (13 crore families) will get in terms of REAL MONEY," he said in a series of tweets.

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh also slammed the prime minister's announcement.

"Last night the Prime Minister did what comes to him best. Maximum packaging, Minimum meaning. It was a case of classic NAMO. No Action Message Only," he said on Twitter.
