Mangaluru, Jan 2: In a fresh case of communal vigilantism, a group of trouble mongers, suspected to be activists of a saffron outfit, on Tuesday pounced on two male and two female students of a pre-university college hurling abuses at them just because they were together in a tourist spot on the outskirts of the coastal city despite belonging to different faiths.

The incident took place at Manasa Amusement & Water Park in Pilikula, one of the prominent tourist destinations in the region.

It is said that a group of students from Pompei PU College in Aikala had been to the Park in the morning. They belonged to three different religions. All of a sudden they were rounded up by the miscreants who started thrashing them. The miscreants repeatedly touched the girls inappropriately and abused them.

Even though the local police rushed to the spot after sometime, the miscreants did not stop their goondaism. A video, which went viral on social media, shows a suspected saffron activist attacking one of the girls in front of police when the two girls were about to board a police car.
