Riyadh: DKMO hosts grand family winter fest-2017

Riyadh: The Dakshina Karnataka Muslim Okkoota (DKMO), Riyadh, conducted its annual ‘grand family winter festival-2017’ on Nov 23 at Al Rushd Resort, Riyadh. It was well organized and huge gathering was the main factor of success.

DKMO is aunique organization set up in Saudi Arabia, Riyadh with an intention to support the family of deceased NRI’s in case of sudden death of their breadwinners. 

Currently, DKMO has expanded with other objectives like financial loan for members, air tickets for stranded NRIs, general relief fund, micro loan to support self-employment in India and support for anti dowry marriages & campaigns.

The DKMO team spirit was very much appreciated and their efforts on supporting the NRI community was significantly touched the hearts of the Public. Awe – Inspiring reception welcomed all the crowd into this Mega event. The program had begun with stage function followed by many other fun filled indoor and outdoor activities.

The program started with recitation of holy quaran by Master Hisham Bin Muhammed Ali. DKMO Secretary Br Irfan Mani welcomed all the guests to the dais. Br. Basheer Talapady, a vibrant spokesman had compered the event with brief introduction of the ceremony to the audience. DKMO Vice President Br. Mohammed Ali Jokatte presided over the function. Br Akhtar Sheikh, Ameer NRCC JF had inaugurated the function and he spread the beautiful fragrances of DKMO’s activities in his inaugural speech.

The chief guest of the event Br Zuhair Malik Falahi narrated the importance of charity through the verses of Quaran and Hadeeth. He elevated the significance of charity and its rewards in accordance with Islamic guidelines.

Another distinguished Guest, an Icon of the day Mr.Kundan Lal, Regional Manager Air India was an attraction for the audience. He encouraged all the youths to indulge in pro-socio activities and he stressed to look into the pathetic situations of our very neighboring lives irrespective of cast and creed. 

A well-deserved eminent community thinkerBr.Sheikabba Deerah was felicitated with “DKMO Excellence Award” for his life time achievement on his dedication and hard work for the betterment of the community. 

Vice President Br Fazlurrahman Kolkar briefed the audience about the activities and future plans of DKMO. Meanwhile the crowd was kept under sweet pressure with an enthralling raffle draw and spot quizzes. Quiz Master Br.Mazin interestingly puzzled the children and adults with an Islamic and general questions and the Winners were encouraged with dazzling gift hampers. Through the attractive mega raffle draw one of the spectator won bumper “Air India” Return Ticket. At the end of the stage program Br.Salman Noor conveyed the vote of thanks to all guests and audiences.

As a special event, a Duff program was conducted by Pupils of Alif InternationalSchool, Riyadh. All the spectators had very mesmerizing desi feelings and recalled their olden days.

Alif international school had organized the Drawing competition for children of all age group. Real talents were emerged out with beautiful art work and winners were awarded and all participants received the consolation prizes. The team of McDonalds entertained the children with face painting, spot games and with Gift Coupons.

As a whole, all the guests had enjoyed the sumptuous dinner with sweets, Ice creams,soft drinksand Fruits. As a special additive, many different food stalls were challenging their taste. Br. Sheikh Deerah and his team supervised and well managed the food arrangements.

On the other side, Ladies Volunteers had conducted numerous activities like quiz program, spot games and outdoor sports and they distributed the fascinating prizes to all the winners.

Br.Haneef NS, Br.Shameer and their team had energetically conducted the various outdoor games like tug of war, running race, dodge ball and lemon race for children and Volleyball, Tug of war and Pot Breaking for adults. 

Bantwal Guys emerged to be the winner of both volleyball and Tug of War events and Spin Guys Malaz were runners up of both events.

During the Closing Ceremony, DKMO secretory Br.Ismail thanked all the guests, crowds, Sponsors, Supporters, well-wishers, Volunteers and executive members. On marking the conclusion, whole DKMO team pledged to utilize the fund raised from this event to support the helpless NRIs and needy people back home.

Dubai, Aug 7: ‘Nama Tuluve’ Purushotham Salian, a staunch stalwart who always supported humanity and a strong pillar for Tuluvas in Dubai, passed away August, 4 at Al Tawam Hospital Al Ain. He was suffering from cancer and was admitted to Al Tawam Hospital Al Ain some time ago. He was on the last stage of illness which was not detected earlier.

His funeral last rites were conducted on Thursday August 7 at Jebel Ali cemetery in Hindu rites with a few of his family members present. Due to Covid pandemic, neither his body was able to be flown back to hometown nor could his two children come down to attend the funeral. However, it was said that his wish was to be cremated here in Dubai which unknowingly sometime back he whispered to one of his friends.

Purushotham had few years ago, survived a heart attack and fought back his life, though it had a minor paralytic effect on him. Even though, till recently he used to do his day-to-day work normally. He was a hard working personality and owned a readymade garment shop in Ajman and Dubai mostly taking care of clients with requirement of uniforms and coveralls. His dedication towards work was always appreciated by his clients who used to get their things delivered on time always.

He was never a publicity person and was helping the poor and needy in whatever ways he could silently. He strongly supported the community and was associated with Nama Tuluveru and Billawa community with commitment. He used to voluntarily come forward for the ground work of various functions of the community and used to be there until it was done perfectly.

Riyadh, Feb 24: Indian Islahi Center, Riyadh (IICR) kicked off the propagation campaign of "Learn the Quran" national conference, which is slated to be held on March 27, 2020 at Nofa Istiraha, Exit 18, Riyadh, Kingdom Saudi Arabia. It's IICR's 20th successful program.

Kerala Legislative Assembly's opposition leader & Congress leader, Ramesh Chennitthala inaugurated the campaign that was held at Voco Hotel in Riyadh, capital city of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Ramesh was on two days visit in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The objective of the campaign is to instil the keenness & to keep creating the continuous awareness amongst the community on Quran. It also enables to recite the Quran with Tajweed (science of reading the Quran) & correct form.

Aboobakker Edthanatukkara (President of IICR), Abdul Qayyum Bustani, Kunhi Kumbala, Abdullah Vallanchira, Adv.
