Lucknow, Jan 15: A senior Uttar Pradesh BJP legislator has said that India will become a ''Hindu Rashtra'' in 2024, the year, when the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) will be completing 100 years of its establishment.

BJP MLA Surendra Singh also said that Muslims were ''supporters'' of Pakistan and that only those, Muslims would remain in India, who ''accepted'' the culture of the country.

Singh also took potshots at Congress president Rahul Gandhi and said that the latter could never become prime minister of the country as he (Rahul) had ''mixed'' culture.

''India will become a Hindu Rashtra by 2024....RSS will be completing 100 years in 2024,'' the MLA said while speaking to reporters on Sunday in Ballia. A video containing the remarks of the MLA has gone viral on the social networking sites.

''Very few Muslims are patriots...they do not think for the country...though they live here and eat here but they support Pakistan....nothing can be more unfortunate than this,'' Singh went on to say.

He said that Rahul represented ''mixed culture''. ''Rahul's father was an Indian and mother an Italian...he is like a jersey (a small breed of dairy cattle...orginally bred in the Channel Island of Jersey) cow...he can never feel the pain and difficulties of the people of India,'' Singh said.

UP BJP leaders termed the utterances as the ''personal opinion'' of the MLA and said that the party had nothing to do with it.

Earlier also BJP MLA Sangeet Som had said that India was only for the Hindus.

Because of such crazy so called Hindus, other Hindus started looking for other religion and they slowly drifting into other faiths.

It looks it goes on. The country will become very strong secular country where no such crazies will have sickiness of barking.

The Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) has urged Muslims to take precautions during Eid ul-Adha (Bakrid), to be celebrated in the last week of July, and has issued guidelines on offering prayers and sacrifices.

"The namaz should be offered by adhering to the social distancing norms at eidgahs and mosques. Muslims should offer the Eid prayer at home in the same manner as they had done during Eid ul-Fitr in areas where restrictions have been imposed due to COVID-19," it said.

For the sacrifice of animals, a part of the festival, the JIH said "precautionary" measures should be taken due to the pandemic.

"Don't offer qurbani on roads, footpaths and pathways. Ensure the highest level of cleanliness and hygiene. Ensure that you bury the blood and entrails of the animal after qurbani or deliver it at the designated spot of garbage collection," the JIH said in a statement.

The JIH said it would be appropriate to form a committee few days before the Eid ul-Adha, which would keep an eye on the situation, remain in touch with the local administration and offer cooperation towards maintaining the law and order in the area.

New Delhi, Jan 9: The Union government has removed the central security cover of Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister O Paneerselvam and DMK leader M K Stalin, officials said on Thursday.

They said while Paneerselvam had a smaller 'Y+' cover of central paramilitary commandos, Stalin had a larger 'Z+' protection.

The security cover of these two politicians has been taken off from the central security list after a threat assessment review was made by central security agencies and approved by the Union home ministry, they said.

Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) commandos were protecting these two leaders of Tamil Nadu.

However, they said, the central security cover will be formally taken off after the state police takes over their security task, they added.
