Meleveettil Muhammad Akbar aka M M Akbar, an Islamic orator, educationist and founder Director of Niche of Truth, a religious organization based in Kerala was on Sunday reportedly detained in Hyderabad for unknown reasons.

According to reports, Akbar had arrived in Hyderabad from Australia, and was scheduled to board a flight to Qatar’s capital Doha on Monday. However, he was picked up from Telangana’s capital before leaving the country.

Police sources said that they are looking into the details and procedure to take the controversial preacher to Kerala.

M M Akbar came to limelight earlier in January after Kerala’s communist government decided to shut down his Peace International School on charge of “promoting enmity” among different groups on the basis of religion. However, M M Akhar and school have rubbished the charge as baseless and ill-intentioned.

According to reports claimed that Abdul Rasheed, one of the 21 people who went missing under mysterious circumstances from Kerala and are suspected to have links with Islamic State terror outfit, was an employee of the Peace School. His wife Yasmin Ahmad, also missing, had earlier reportedly taught at the same school.

Akbar is the managing director of Peace International School, which has 13 branches in different districts of Kerala. The Kerala government claimed that the school was not following textbooks of SCERT, NCERT or CBSE but using books which were out of syllabus and published by private companies.

The officers conducting the investigation into the matter said that textbooks, published by Navi Mumbai-based Burooj Realization, were distributed in Class II of all the branches of the school. According to those officers, the books propagated Islamic orthodoxy and conversion.

The investigation team had apprehended three people earlier. After the arrest of Mohamed Vaid, 38, Sameed Ahammed Sheikh, 31, and Sahil Hameed Sayed, 28, Burooj Realization had withdrawn the textbooks distributed to schools across the country.

“They confessed that there were errors in the books and claimed that corrected books will be distributed from the next academic year,” an officer said.

Yet another fake target after Dr Zakir Naik. This is the motive of present Indian government to shut down all Islamic preachers and stop peace & truth to prevail in the country. The harder they try to damage, the more Islam spreads in the hearts of people.

Everything happens with the will of ALLAH,  and it happens for the Good.... if AKBAR will be Jailed, Many people will definetely know who is their CREATOR who is worthy of Worship... Many non muslims are unaware of their own scripture which says NA TASYA PRATIMA ASTI... (There is no image of God) Unknowingly they worship the CREATED things which is taking far away from the TRUTH... May ALLAH Guide Non muslims of india to know the REALITY of cheddi deception which is playing with many of the unknowledgable non muslims who act according to the media unknowingly. Unless and until they know the TRUTH of the TRUE GOD, such misconception will go on in everywhere... Muslims should be patience in times of trials...

Bengaluru, Apr 29: Janata Dal-Secular leader and former Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy on Tuesday accused the central government of writing off loans of those who are facing charges of fraud.

In a series of tweets, Kumaraswamy slammed the central government.

"Really? At a time when the whole world is worried about unprecedented economic emergency, writing off Rs 68,000 crore loans of willful big fish defaulters became the best antidote to the economic crisis? And how is 50k cr package to mutual funds going to help the common man?" he tweeted.

In another tweet, Kumaraswamy said that "Billionaire scamsters like Vijay Mallya, Mehul Choksy, Sanjay Junjunwala seem to be very dear to this government".

"Na khaunga, na khane dunga" is yet another jumla unraveled. Billionaire scamsters like Vijay Malya, Mehul Choksy, Sanjay Junjunwala seem to be very dear to this government. The poor are dying by the roadside, farmers are desperate, the middle class is faced with economic doom.

The government has done little to help. But it writes off loans of those who are facing charges of fraud! What patriotism! What nationalism!" he tweeted.

Bengaluru, May 27: Former Karnataka chief minister and JD-S leader HD Kumaraswamy on Wednesday said that the state government should withdraw the decision to name the Yelahanka bridge after Hindutva ideologue Vinayak Damodar Savarkar.

"The state government's decision to name the Yelahanka bridge after Savarkar is a disgrace to those who have struggled for the country's prosperity. This doesn't give a good name to the state government," Kumaraswamy tweeted.

"There are many great people who worked for the development of the country before and after independence. Their names could have been used for this bridge. Do other states name their bridges after our leaders? On behalf of the people of the state, I urge the state government to take a step back from this decision," he added.

The newly built Yelahanka bridge was named after Savarkar last year in a BBMP council meeting. Later it was sent to state government for approval. Tomorrow, the bridge is likely to be inaugurated for public use.

Bengaluru, Jan 6: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Sunday launched the ruling BJP's outreach campaign in favour of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in Bengaluru.

"The CAA came into being after its amendment bill was passed in Parliament during its winter session with the support of major political parties. It is meant to give shelter and protection to Hindu minorities facing persecution in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. It does not take away any rights of Indians," Yediyurappa told residents on a door-to-door campaign in the city.

Accusing the opposition Congress of misleading the people on the CAA and inciting its protesters to indulge in violence, the chief minister said the Act does not cause any problem to all sections of Indians.

"There is no question of taking away anyone's citizenship, including that of Muslims, as the Act only facilitates the return of the Hindus persecuted in the neighbouring countries in the sub-continent," he asserted.

State deputy chief minister H.C. Ashwath Narayana and party's Bengaluru Central Lok Sabha member P.C. Mohan accompanied the chief minister on his outreach programme in some residential and commercial areas of the city.

As part of the nationwide campaign in favour the CAA, the party's state unit president Nalin Kumar Kateel and the state's dozen cabinet ministers led the campaign in other cities across the southern state.

"An awareness campaign will be peacefully held daily till January 15 across the state to counter the protests against it by students and other people at the behest of the Congress and Left parties," Kateel told reporters at Mangaluru, 350km southwest of Bengaluru.

Kateel is a BJP Lok Sabha member from the state's Dakshina Kannada seat.

Besides contacting the people directly at their doorstep through the party's leaders, cadres and supporters, the BJP is reaching all sections of society through social media and by holding pro-CAA rallies in all the 30-district headquarters across the state over the next 10 days.

"About 300 leaders and cadres of the party have fanned out in cities and towns across the state to explain the provisions of the CAA to the people and clarify their doubts, as the protesters were misleading them with wrong information about it," reiterated Kateel.

The CAA came into being after the President enacted the a law to give citizenship rights to Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Parsis and Christians who have been allegedly persecuted as minorities in Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan over the last seven decades.

"A deliberate misinformation campaign has been carried out against the CAA by vested interests, misguiding a section of college/university students, their faculty, activists and members of the minority community on its provisions so as to create unrest and trigger violence in the country," Ravikumar claimed.

The ruling party also held rallies and public meetings in major cities like Mysuru, Mangaluru, Hubballi, Belagavi, Bellary and Kalaburagi across the state and enlightened the people on the benefits of the CAA.

"As social media is all-pervasive with greater reach and better impact, we are also reaching about one crore people of all ages through Kannada, Hindi and English script, messages and audio/video clips in the state during the fortnight campaign," added Kateel.
