KMYA Sambhrama-2018 turns in Mangalurean festival in Riyadh

Riyadh: The Katipalla Muslim Youth Association (KMYA) recently organized a family get together, KMYA-Sambhrama 2018 at Al Roshd Resort in Riyadh.

The event began with a recitation of the holy Quran by Master Arsh Habeeb. In nightlong entertainment program, KMYA felicitated the philanthropists and well-wishers who supported KMYA’s charity programs.

Mohammed Sadiq, CEO of RACC contracting Company, Santhosh Shetty, MD of Khadesiah Medical Center and President of KWAR and Karnataka NRI Forum, Abdul Aziz Bankal, president DKMO Riyadh were the chief guests at the event. PS Abdul Aziz, KMYA president welcomed the guests at the event.

Singer Abdul Samad Katipalla was the master of ceremony. Participants with their family and friends were seen enjoying the nonstop entertainment by Abdul Samad that made them stick to their seats until the end of the function. The audience cheered to the Beary qawwali, skits, and songs.

Mangalurean traditional dinner welcomed the crowd to this mega event. The food court was a special attraction. The participants enjoyed different types of Mangalurean snacks. A medical checkup camp was organized and sponsored by Khadesiah Medical Center.

Beary poetry concert was another special attraction at the event. Abdul Samad and his team presented poems written by prominent Beary writers Ibrahim Thannirubavi, B.A Mohammed Ali Kammaradi, Hussain Katipalla, Basheer Keenya, Ashraf Apollo and Mohammed Baddoor. Students of Alif International School presented a Duff play.

Alif International School organized a drawing competition for children of all age groups. True talents emerged with beautiful artwork and winners were awarded. Quran reciting competition for children was conducted at the program. All participants received consolation prizes.

The huge gathering during this period of a recession was a shining example of the passion of KMYA members towards charity works to support the needy back home. The KMYA team spirit was very much appreciated and their efforts to support the downtrodden community touched the hearts of the participants. KMYA is a non-profit charity association established in 1989 by members of Katipalla Muslim Jamath living in Saudi Arabia. Since then it is supporting the poor families in and around Katipalla village of Mangaluru Taluq.

Expertise Contracting Co., Great Mountains Industrial Services, PAPYROL Paper Products and RACC Contracting Co., were the main sponsors while Rooftech, LuLu Hypermarkets, Universal, Khadesiah Medical Center and Friendi Mobile were the co-sponsors for the event.

Sports competitions were held separately for Children, Ladies, and gents. A number of spot games and competitions and quiz were held with attractive prizes.

In a final closing message, event chairman Sulaiman Abdul Rahman thanked the sponsors and participants for their continued support to KMYA. More than 60 volunteers were thanked for their contribution to the success of the event. The entire KMYA team pledged to utilize the fund raised from this event to support the helpless NRIs and needy people back home.

Dubai, Aug 7: ‘Nama Tuluve’ Purushotham Salian, a staunch stalwart who always supported humanity and a strong pillar for Tuluvas in Dubai, passed away August, 4 at Al Tawam Hospital Al Ain. He was suffering from cancer and was admitted to Al Tawam Hospital Al Ain some time ago. He was on the last stage of illness which was not detected earlier.

His funeral last rites were conducted on Thursday August 7 at Jebel Ali cemetery in Hindu rites with a few of his family members present. Due to Covid pandemic, neither his body was able to be flown back to hometown nor could his two children come down to attend the funeral. However, it was said that his wish was to be cremated here in Dubai which unknowingly sometime back he whispered to one of his friends.

Purushotham had few years ago, survived a heart attack and fought back his life, though it had a minor paralytic effect on him. Even though, till recently he used to do his day-to-day work normally. He was a hard working personality and owned a readymade garment shop in Ajman and Dubai mostly taking care of clients with requirement of uniforms and coveralls. His dedication towards work was always appreciated by his clients who used to get their things delivered on time always.

He was never a publicity person and was helping the poor and needy in whatever ways he could silently. He strongly supported the community and was associated with Nama Tuluveru and Billawa community with commitment. He used to voluntarily come forward for the ground work of various functions of the community and used to be there until it was done perfectly.

Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club (KSCC) organized Blood Donation Camp at Latifa Hospital, Oud Mehta Dubai on April 23rd, 2020 in association with Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and with support from Community Development Authority (CDA) Government of Dubai.

Blood Donation Drive started in the morning at 7:30 am to 6:00 pm. Around 48 people participated in this drive and donated blood to support the Dubai Blood Bank.

A potential shortage of blood for transfusions has been occurred due to a significant reduction in voluntary blood donations during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic. The current pandemic, health services are now running with shortages of blood availability. To support the DHA Blood Bank KSCC taken initiative to ensure that blood donations continued and are safe for both the donor and the recipient.

After taking safety precaution and safe distance during the blood donation donors feeling happy and honored to participate and donate blood at this pandemic situation. Club Manager Mr. Mohammad Shafi was also present during this event.

KSCC appreciated all the blood donors and be grateful to Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Community Development Authority (CDA), and Government of Dubai for their association for this event. They also thanked the volunteers and supporters.

Kuwait: Eid is usually a time of family get-togethers and feasts after weeks of dawn-to-dusk fasting. But this year people celebrated at home, with virus fears dampening the holiday spirit and strict restrictions in place.

Kuwait went under full curfew before the start of Ramadan leaving people to practice fasting and Ramadan rituals at home, Even Eid al-Fitr came under full lock-down period.

As situation demanded, IMA Kuwait celebrated the Eid Get-together online via video conferencing tool, All IMA members participated joyfully in Eid Milan online gathering which was scheduled immediately after Eid prayer. Members participated and congratulated each other on the eve of Eid.

The IMA president Shamvel Parviz addressed the gathering and thanked them for joining online for this unique Eid celebration which will be remembered in history. He also advised members to be aware of conditions of neighbors, friends and family and assist them if they need help in this difficult time.

Eid al-Fitr follows weeks of fasting and marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Thousands of Muslims all over Kuwait followed strict guideline and performed Eid prayer at home along with their family.

As a part of social service activities IMA also distributed ration kits before start of Ramadan and during Ramadan for needy people all over Kuwait.
