Bengaluru, Apr 19: Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy on Wednesday directed IGP (Eastern range) Sharat Chandra to conduct a probe into an incident wherein a truck hit Union Minister Anant kumar Hegde’s convoy in Haveri.
Hegde had claimed that it was a deliberate attempt on his life, while the BJP leaders demanded a thorough probe into the incident. State BJP general secretary Shobha Karandlaje claimed that it was an attempt by jihadi elements to kill the Union minister.
Bengaluru, Feb 2: Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on Sunday said that the cabinet expansion would take place on February 6, with 13 MLAs taking oath of office. “The cabinet expansion will take place on February 6 with the oath-taking ceremony at the Raj Bhavan at 10.30 AM,” he told reporters in Bengaluru.
Thirteen MLAs, including 10 who had joined BJP from parties, including Congress and the JD(S), will take oath, he said. The cabinet expansion is on the cards for nearly two months ever since the BJP won the maximum number of seats in the December 5 2019 bypolls and got a majority in the Karnataka assembly.
Bengaluru, Jun 22: The opening of Schools in the state, is unlikely before Dasara festival, as a majority of the parents are averse to send their children due to the COVID-19 scare.
According to official sources, in the State education department, a majority of parents, who were asked to give their opinion on re-opening of schools in the state, have reportedly favoured continuing the closing of schools till September.
The primary and Secondary education department had received feedback from various stakeholders including educational institutions, parents and Teachers, clocking high towards not opening the schools for the 2020-21 academic year till Dasara days.
Mangaluru, Apr 18: Mangaluru Police have registered a case against two foreign nationals, who were under home quarantine in Kodailbail, for allegedly spitting in the lift of their apartment building on Friday.
The two men, along with three of their roommates, have now been sent to a quarantine facility.
The residents of the residential complex have mentioned in their complaint that they have the CCTV footage of the two spitting in the lift.
Further investigation in the case is underway.
