Bengaluru, Apr 22: All India Congress Committee spokesperson Kushboo Sundar has come down heavily on the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not being able to punish those involved in heinous crimes in BJP-ruled States.

Addressing presspersons here, she said the nation had witnessed the gruesome rape and murder of an eight-year-old in Jammu and Kashmir temple, an 11-year-old in Surat, and an eight-month-old infant being sexually assaulted in Indore, all in States ruled by the BJP.

“Despite this, the Prime Minister has maintained a stoic silence. He should take his own advice that he gave to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and speak up. While he is silent in India, he chose to speak in London saying rape incidents should not be politicised,” she said.

“In Uttar Pradesh, we saw how instead of filing an FIR against Kuldeep Sengar, BJP MLA, to ensure justice, they assaulted and killed the victim’s father in police custody. In Khatua, they stood shoulder to shoulder with the accused,” she alleged.

AICC communications convener Priyanka Chaturvedi alleged after Mr. Modi came to power, cases of rape have gone up by 63.79% and cases of attempted rape have increased by 35.31% from 2014 to 2016 in the country. However, the conviction rate for crimes against women has been on a decline. “The BJP is working to create a Mahila Mukt Bharat,” she added.

Not only rapists.. Modi trying to protect all saffron major terrorists. anybody arguing that modi not tried to protect, then answer me for these -

Many saffron criminals convicted in terror and communal activity aquitted under modi rule.

Recenlty aseemananda aquitted in Mecca Masjid case, before aseemananda only revealed that he did such terror activities and now NIA found that no evidence...!

Aseemananda's many cases NIA closing one by one for giving complete clean chit

There are many incidents for NIA acting as a saffron tool

In Justice Loya murder case why Amit Shah not get arrested till now and they are making favourable condition by keeping saffron minded lawyers

If Modi and his bakths not the reason/responsible for the hike in numbers, then why modi scared of public? He came to power by boasting and public speeches, and after getting power he hardly faced public. And now he didnt speak on this shocking kathua rape inncident. And also at the same time he trying to protest those rapists.

One correction is there.. Under UPA rule rape issues were there much but not reported or complainted this much. Those issues are became unknown. Either girl hesitated to complain or there is no much evidence for that.

People and media not thinking about this and unwantedly blaming Modi rule

Bengaluru, Jun 23: In an attempt to avoid exploitation of patients affected with coronavirus, the Karnataka government on Tuesday announced fixing charges that could be collected from patients by the private hospitals for treatment in the State.

There are now two sets of rates for patients--those who are referred by public health facilities and those who approach private hospitals directly.

According to the notification issued by State Chief Secretary TM Vijay Bhaskar on Tuesday, 50 per cent of the total beds in private hospitals having facilities to treat Covid-19 patients shall be reserved for the treatment of patients referred by public health authorities.

This will include the high-dependency unit and ICU (intensive care unit) beds both with and without ventilators. The hospitals may utilise the remaining Covid beds for admitting Covid-19 patients privately.

Bengaluru, Apr 11:  Amid nationwide lockdown in the wake of COVID-19, former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy on Saturday urged the state government to announce a relief package for farmers.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday held a video conference with Chief Ministers.

Taking to Twitter, Kumaraswamy wrote, "As the lock down continues, what action plan does the government have to tackle the challenges of ensuring marketing channels for farm produce with timely transport and ensuring uninterrupted supply of essential groceries to towns and cities?"

He later asked the government to act "swiftly and effectively".

"On one hand we see farmers throwing their produce in despair and losing their livelihoods. On the other hand supplies to towns are depleting. This is threatening both lives and livelihoods. The government must act swiftly and effectively," Kumaraswamy tweeted.

"I urge the state government to immediately announce relief package to farmers by way of direct benefit transfer mechanism and purchase all the agricultural produce so as to avoid farmer suicides," he added.

With 40 deaths and 1,035 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, India on Saturday witnessed a sharpest ever increase in coronavirus cases, taking the tally of the infected people in the country to 7,447, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Bengaluru, Jan 15: Srishti Institute of Art, Design and Technology in Bengaluru has decided to remain shut for two days after a group of BJP workers wiped out graffiti on its outer walls claiming it as anti-Modi and allegedly warned them against any anti CAA agitation there.

According to sources, the group led by Yelahanka MLA S R Vishwanath allegedly even towed away some vehicles of students and faculty parked in front of the institute alleging that they were blocking the road and causing inconvenience to the local people.

Some students have alleged that they were threatened by BJP workers and also the institute's authorities regarding the graffiti and the blocking of the road using traffic police.

They even claimed that BJP workers warned them against organising any anti-NRC or CAA protests.

A few local residents are also said to have joined the BJP workers and raised complaints about the conduct of the institute's students.

According to local BJP workers, the MLA and a few party men had gone near the institute on receiving complaints from locals about vehicles parked there blocking the road, and when they came across the graffiti they painted it with saffron paint to avoid any controversy, and there was no altercation as being alleged.

However, there is no clarity on who drew the graffiti regarding Modi, which according to BJP workers allegedly depicted the PM in poor light.

The institute has declared holiday on Thursday and Friday to avoid any further escalation, keeping the interest and safety of students in mind, sources said.

Interestingly, on Tuesday graffiti had appeared overnight on the shutters of some shops and walls on the Church Street against Modi, CAA and NRC, following which the city police have launched an investigation.
