Belagavi, May 7: “The Modi wave has now turned into a tsunami in Karnataka. It will uproot all opponents and ensure the victory of the BJP in the elections,” said BJP national president Amit Shah.
Addressing a rally here yesterday, Shah also charged the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah with corruption, minority appeasement and apathy towards people’s problems.
“AICC president Rahul Gandhi has left the field, leaving all responsibility on the shoulders of Mr. Siddaramaiah. What happens to those who leave the battlefield midway? Do they win?” he asked the crowd.
“Mr. Rahul Gandhi has been asking what Mr. Modi has done for the country in the last four years. I will not respond to this. I will give answers to the people of Karnataka,” he said.
“The NDA government at the Centre has released Rs. 2.19 lakh crore for various development schemes in Karnataka, as against the UPA government’s Rs. 88,000 crore. That is Rs. 1 lakh crore more than the UPA government’s contribution. But that money has not reached the people. Where has it gone? You can get the answer when you look at Congress leaders. Those leaders who were living in small houses before the last election are now living in multi-floor houses and with many cars,” he said.
The NDA government has introduced 116 welfare and development schemes. But they have not reached the people of Karnataka, he said.
He said that the Chief Minister has failed to answer the question about his Rs. 40 lakh watch, though many months have passed now.
Mr. Siddaramaiah remembers Tipu Sultan and not local heroes such as Kittur Channamma, Belawadi Mallamma or Sangolli Rayanna. The Siddaramaiah government celebrates the Tipu Jayanti who is a celebrated hero in Pakistan, Mr. Shah said.
