Newsroom, Jul 4: Several media reports today claimed that doctor-turned-preacher Zakir Naik, who is allegedly being targeted by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government and its agencies, will be sent back from Malaysia.

The National Investigation Authority had in 2017 filed a criminal case against Dr Naik, the founder of Islamic Research Foundation. Indian television channels such as Times Now, ABP News and Republic quoting a top Malaysian police officer said that Zakir Naik "will be taking a flight to India today".

However, the lawyer of the Dr Naik has rubbished the claims, saying there was no notice from the government in this regard as yet. A special court in Mumbai had on July 21, 2017, declared Naik a "proclaimed offender".

Meanwhile, the embattled preacher has denied the news through IRF that he is headed to India anytime soon.

"The news of my coming to India is totally baseless and false. I have no plans to come to India till I don't feel safe from unfair prosecution. Insha Allah when I feel that the government will be just and fair, I will surely return to my homeland," says a statement by the IRF, on behalf of Zakir Naik.

Later last year, a report had also claimed that Malaysia has granted permanent residency to the founder of Islamic Research Foundation. It was in November 2016 that the NIA had registered a criminal case against Naik in Mumbai under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. At around the same time, the Central government had declared the Mumbai-based IRF as an "unlawful association". Naik had left India in 2016.

Tumakuru, Jan 8: RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat stoked controversy on Wednesday by stating that 'Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is full of traitors'.

He was addressing the media after taking part in a pro-CAA rally organised by National Citizens Forum near the office of the deputy commissioner of the district here.

Bhat said, “JNU is full of traitors. Congress and communist parties have been generating anti-nationals there. But there is no need to close the university down. Modi government will handle it.”

“Nationalism should be infused among the students there through love and trust. They should be made to realize what the truth is,” he said.

Unfortunate, still he has poor followers to believe him.

He is safe at home and sacrifiers are poor boys who blindly believe and obey him.

This guy is sick and irriversible.

God will reward him so that his followers believe his exploiting orders.

Dubai, Jul 9: Air India Express has opened ticket bookings for flights from India to the UAE from July 12 to 26. The carrier posted the announcement on its social media pages.

“INDIA to UAE - Flights are open for sale! Bookings could be made through our website (http://airindiaexpress.in), call centre or authorised travel agents. Visit http://blog.airindiaexpress.in for more details,” the budget airline tweeted.

A clause mentioned in the flyer attached to the post added that only UAE residents with permits to return from India can book flights.

Thousands of Indian expats have been waiting to book flights back to the UAE after being stuck home for about four months due to the COVID-19 travel restrictions.

Vande Bharat Mission flights

Under the fourth phase of Vande Bharat Mission, as many as 104 flights will be operating between UAE and India.

The Air India announced this on Twitter under a post “#FlyAI : Important Information for ICA approved UAE residents who wish to travel to UAE on Vande Bharat Mission flights.”

A flyer attached to the post addressed passengers who wish to travel to UAE on flights being operated under Vande Bharat Mission by Air India and Air India Express in pursuance of agreement between Civil Aviation authorities of India and the UAE.

“AI and AIE operating evacuation flights to Indian citizens from the UAE to India will carry ICA approved UAE residents (returning to the UAE from India) on the outward journey from India to the UAE.”

“On the India-UAE journey, all these flights will carry only those passengers who are destined for the UAE.”

“This arrangement will be operational for a period of 15 days from July 12 to 26,” the airline added.

While most of the Vande Bharat flights are operated by AIE, a few flights from Sharjah are operated by Air India.
