3-year Degree course in Fashion Technology from ATDC

Bengaluru, Jul 2: Apparel Training and Design Centre (ATDC), Bengaluru, has invited applications for its three-year degree course in Apparel and Fashion.

The full-time Bachelor course is being offered in two streams as BVoc in Fashion Design and Retail and BVoc in Apparel Manufacturing and Entrepreneurship.

Students who have completed their II PUC (or equivalent from other boards) in any discipline and have a creative bent of mind are eligible to apply. ATDC is a Gurugram-based central government council which has set up branches across the country to offer degree and vocational courses mainly in apparel clusters. In Bengaluru, the course will be taught at the ATDC campus in Yeshwanthpur.

The two new-generation degree courses for the fashion industry is recognised by AICTE and costs much lesser than private colleges that are affiliated to local universities.

In today’s fashion-conscious world, there is a huge demand for courses that touch upon fashion, design, apparel, manufacturing and entrepreneurship and ATDC prides itself on creating industry-ready professionals. Students placed by the institution in the industry command a starting salary of Rs 20,000 plus and those interested in entrepreneurship can set up manufacturing units for which they are eligible for loans under various schemes.

Fashion technology is a creative pursuit and involves knowledge of apparel, colour sense, design sense and creativity. Selected students will get hands-on exposure at the state-of-the-art centre where emphasis is on enhancing skills, using latest machines and learning designing on CAD. ATDC believes in creating industry-ready professionals with a thorough knowledge through its courses.

In addition, students are sent for internship at leading fashion and export houses as well as participate in fashion shows organised by leading event companies and fashion houses during the course.

Those economically backward but bright students opting for this degree course are also eligible for scholarships. They get a full waiver of their annual fee (Rs 67,000) if they have scored 80% and above in PUC and a waiver of a term fee (Rs 33,500) if they have secured 70% in PUC.

Mangaluru: COVID-19 has disrupted the traditional academic year.  Due to the on-going pandemic situation and the financial crisis, the management of The Shepherds' International Academy, Mangalore (TSIA) has decided to reduce the annual school fees by 50% for the academic year 2020-21.

In a media release, TSIA correspondent stated that even though the school hasn't met the regular operating expenses, the management's decision is for the benefit of the communities.

The correspondent also informed that TSIA will start online classes  on receipt of the official nod from the Govt. Educational department.

Mangaluru, Mar 4: With an objective to create awareness among children about the importance of consumption of fruits in regular diet, First Steps Pre-School, Kudroli, celebrated Fruits Day on Friday 28th February 2020 with fun and frolic.

The tiny tots of preschool celebrated Fruit Day. Children, representing the fruits of their choice sang the fruit rhymes with great zest, enthusiasm and vigour, enjoying the moments of joy and happiness in the company of their mates & teachers.

Teachers had made interesting and simple stories on encouraging children to have fruits in their meals. The teachers also explained the importance of fruits’ intake in diet for mental and physical growth. The tiny tots also learned more about the taste, smell,

color and texture of each fruit. Children clearly understood the importance of washing the fruits before eating or cooking and about the benefits of eating fresh fruits.

All the children were found to be quite thrilled and were positive on the fact that fruits are better than junk food.

The head teacher Himna S. Ahmed, teacher Azeema and Master Shehzan S. Ahmed arranged the event in an impressive manner which added feather to the event.

The event magnificently concluded with fruit feast for the kids of pre-school.
