IMA-Kuwait hosts spectacular family desert picnic

Kuwait City, March 26: Indian Muslim Association (IMA)-Kuwait organised a 'Family Desert Picnic 2012' on the outskirts of the city. The theme of the event was ‘Be merciful to the people, Allah will be merciful to you’ which was apparent in all the activities throughout the picnic.

Spacious premises with separate tents for men and women and many small tents for basic amenities in a desert provided a great escape from the routine to the entire family members. Picnic started with the breakfast followed by brief morning session.

It is a customary annual event, which provides educational discourses, entertainment, sports, mushaira (Urdu poetry session), several kinds of competitions and various other activities to the entire family to rejoice in a leisurely atmosphere. Islamic books stall was established during the picnic which displayed various contemporary books in different Indian languages.

Mohammad Aslam President of IMA welcomed the audience. Sheikh Jamal al Noori, head of Abdullah Noori Society was guest of honor.

Islamic scholar Rizwan Falahi from India participated as guest and gave a discourse on the importance of social services and briefed about the various social activities in India. Mohammed Hasan gave picnic guidelines to the entire participants to ensure discipline and safety during the entire event.

Various sports activities such as volleyball, running race, cricket, tug of war etc. were conducted separately for men and women. In a parallel session, many prominent Urdu poets participated in mushaira and presented their poems with big applause and appreciation from the audience.

Khaja Arifuddin, an educationist from India gave Friday sermon under the topic importance of social service in Islam and highlighted the importance of social service based on relevant Islamic teachings.

Evening session included dramas, cultural programs and multimedia presentations under various relevant educational themes presented by the artists of IMA youth wing. It was one of the prime attractions of the picnic that added flavor to the atmosphere. Cutting edge technology was employed to the whole stage activities.

During evening session prize distribution to the winners of various competitions were given by the guests. Delicious Biryani was served to all the participants for lunch. More than thousand people with their families participated in the event. Sharafuddin Soofi conducted the programme. Mohammed Hasan and Noman Vasaikar were Picnic organizer for this successful event.

On the occasion of 71st Republic Day of India, Qatar Indian Social Forum (QISF), Karnataka State organized a blood donation camp in Doha Qatar, in association with Hamad Medical Corporation on 31st January 2020, Friday.

At first, QISF Karnataka State Vice President, Ziaul Huq welcomed the guests, dignitaries and blood donors.

The Blood Donation Camp was inaugurated by ICC President Mr. Manikantan A P who was the Chief guest. In his inaugural speech, he emphasized that, Service to humanity is service to God. By donating the blood, not only we save the lives, but we get blessings also. He also said that punctuality is the key factor in these type of events and should be incorporated by all of us.

QISF Central Committee President, Sayeed Komachi highlighted the necessity and importance of donating the blood and assured QISF a socio cultural organization will always be ready for this noble cause.

Dr. Vishwantha Kini, a well known Radiologist in HMC motivated the donors.

The camp was started at    7.00 A M and ended at 5.30 PM in which 146 people donated the blood out of 185 people registered.

SKMWA President Abdul Majeed and Dr. Haroon from Asian Medical Centre, who were also the Guests in the programme praised the initiative and efforts of QISF. 

QISF Central Committee Vice President Salam Kunnamal, General Secretary Basheer Ahmed, Northern States President Fasiuddin, QISF State and Branch Committee members Lathif Madikeri, Zakariya Pandeshwar, Saleem Bangadi, Mujeebulla Khan, Nayeem Belapu, Ibrahim UB, Toufeeq, Anwar Angargundy, Rizwan Kalladka, Asif Bannur, Imtiyaz Karnad, Jaleel Kalladka, Haneef Montepadav, Rafiq Uppinangady and other members were present during the programme.

The program was presided and concluded by QISF Karnataka State President Nazeer Pasha.

The Overseas Indian Cultural Congress (OICC), Bahrain, has charted aircrafts to repatriate stranded expatriates to India. 

Boby Parayil, General Secretary, OICC National Committee, Bahrain has thanked all those who supported in this cause.

“The aircrafts were not licensed and were in crisis until the last minute. Finally, Mohammed Mansoor, president of Bahrain chapter of Indian Overseas Congress approached IOC Middle East in charge Dr Arathi Krishna, who helped get permission to operate flight to Kozhikode,” he said in a release. 

All mandatory approvals from the Foreign Ministry of Affairs and other government officials were accomplished by Dr Arathi Krishna. OICC has expressed gratitude to her for her timely support, he said. 

OICC is also grateful to former Kerala chief minister Oommen Chandy for doing necessary arrangements to get all the approvals for flight landing in Kerala, he added.

Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club (KSCC) organized Blood Donation Camp at Latifa Hospital, Oud Mehta Dubai on April 23rd, 2020 in association with Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and with support from Community Development Authority (CDA) Government of Dubai.

Blood Donation Drive started in the morning at 7:30 am to 6:00 pm. Around 48 people participated in this drive and donated blood to support the Dubai Blood Bank.

A potential shortage of blood for transfusions has been occurred due to a significant reduction in voluntary blood donations during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic. The current pandemic, health services are now running with shortages of blood availability. To support the DHA Blood Bank KSCC taken initiative to ensure that blood donations continued and are safe for both the donor and the recipient.

After taking safety precaution and safe distance during the blood donation donors feeling happy and honored to participate and donate blood at this pandemic situation. Club Manager Mr. Mohammad Shafi was also present during this event.

KSCC appreciated all the blood donors and be grateful to Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Community Development Authority (CDA), and Government of Dubai for their association for this event. They also thanked the volunteers and supporters.
