TV anchor tenders apology after derogatory remarks against Prophet Muhammad

Newsroom, Dec 29: A pro-Sangh Parivar journalist, who had earned the wrath of Muslim community in Karnataka by making derogatory remarks against Prophet Muhammad, has tendered an apology publicly.

Ajit Hanumakkanavar, a Kannada journalist, who appears on Suvarna News Kannada TV channel, during a debate, had unwarrantedly hurled offensive remarks against whom Muslims believe the God’s final messenger to the mankind.

Social media platforms flooded with condemnations and warnings following the remarks on Friday. The journalist also reportedly received death threat on Facebook. A few organisations also had planned to stage protest against the anchor and the TV channel.

However, at night Hanumakkanavar appeared again on the TV screen just to tender an apology for his unacceptable remarks and claimed that his intention was not to hurt anyone’s feelings.

It is welcome move by Muslims all over India to condemn illogical and baseless remarks made by this pro sanghi journalist.   There should be strict rules in India that none should defame or talk baseless agaisnt any religion + God + Messenger.    such hate mongers should be jaled for not less than 5 years and should be levied penalty of not less than Rs. 10 lacs.    With this strict rule we cannot stop such hate mongers from vomitting hate.    Organisaton behind such hate mongers should also be banned.

A video of a copper vessel with a letter, which is claimed to have been excavated from the Babri Masjid site in Ayodhya, has gone viral on social media.

Several Bharatiya Janata Party leaders and supporters shared the 28-second video social media platforms including Twitter and Facebook claiming that a copper vessel has been recovered from the Ram Janmabhoomi excavation site and contains a letter written in Sanskrit.

A similar tweet by anti-Islamic journalist Pushpendra Kulshrestha received thousands of retweets and likes. Many other users have also shared the same video on Twitter as well as social media platform Facebook, with some calling it a “time capsule” with details of the “original temple”.

What’s the fact?

In fact, the original video doesn’t show a letter excavated from the Ram Janmabhoomi site. It was actually shared by an Instagram account with the handle name ‘Define Avcisi’ on 9 April, i.e., a month before the excavation at the Babri Masjid site started. The account is of a hobbyist, and posts pictures of a number of rare artefacts, coins, among others.

Ironically, the language on the artefact is not Sanskrit as claimed but “Hebrew”. A closer look at the symbols on the document in the video reveals that that they are Jewish and not Hindu.

Bengaluru, Feb 12: Mohammed Nalapad, son of Karnataka Congress MLA NA Harris, who allegedly rammed his sports car into vehicles and a kiosk, injuring 4, on Bellary road in Bengaluru on February 9, said that he was not in the car which met with the accident.

Bengaluru Joint Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Ravikante Gowda told media, "Mohammed Nalapad appeared before the investigating officer today. He was arrested following interrogation. We are collecting evidence and will file a charge sheet shortly."

Nalapad is out on bail, in connection with the matter where he had assaulted a man in a pub in Bengaluru in 2018.

"I was not in the car which met with accident. I was travelling in a Lamborghini car which was moving ahead of the car. However, I called people to rescue the victims. We took them to the hospital and paid their hospital bill," said Mohammed Nalapad.

Mangaluru, May 10: A young photographer has drowned in River Phalguni near Maravoor on the outskirts of the city.

The victim has been identified as Kaushik, 22, who was working for Diya Studio in Kavoor. A resident of Kavoor, he was the only son of his mother.

The tragedy occurred when he had been to the river along with four friends to collect freshwater snails.

It is learnt that local residents rushed to the spot when Kaushik’s friends raised alarm. However, they could not rescue him.

Kaushik’s body was retrieved from the water after sometime. A case has been registered at Kavoor police station.
