Mysuru, Jan 30: For the first time in its history a remote village in the South Indian state of Karnataka witnessed a rare sea of humanity that created an atmosphere of serenity and devotion with prayers and self-introspection — without any slogans. And the event was the three day All India Mushavarathi Ijtema hosted by Tablighi Jamaat from Saturday to Monday at Adakanahalli Industrial Area near Kadokola village in Nanjangud taluk of Mysuru district.

Around eight lakh Muslims from across the country and abroad took part in the mega congregation of the organization which has no connection with any political outfits. Interestingly, the organizers did not use any banners, hoardings and posters to promote the event. However, invitations extended at mosques, especially during Friday congregations, had been successful in attracting an unprecedented number of peaceful devotees.

Organizers said that during the event no slogans were raised to ensure a peaceful atmosphere. No political speeches were made, to ensure that the law and order situation remains under control. Prayers and religious sermons by prominent clerics were the highlight of the event. The organisers had begun preparations at the venue around six months ago.

Senior ulema from Nizamuddin in New Delhi also attended the ijtema. Hazrat Moulana Ahmed Hussain, Hazrat Moulana Ibrahim Ibrahim Devos and Hazrat Moulana Ahmed Lad Saheb from Gujarat; Hazrat Moulana Dr Khalid Ahmed and Hazrat Moulana Dr Sana Ulla Aligharh from UP; Hazrat Moulana Abdul Rahman Saheb; Hazrat Moulana Farooq Ahmed, Hazrat Moualna Akbar Shariff Shariff from Bengaluru and Hazrat Moulana Mohamed Zaka Ulla Saheb Siddiqui, the president of All India Mili Council of the Mysuru district unit, among others were part of the event.

Separate arrangements had been made for the visiting ulema in a special pandal near the main stage. “The convention was held spread the religious values and message of love and not the communal values and message of hatred. Muslims from various parts of the country, including Telangana, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh benefited from the event,” said the organizers.

Minister Tanveer Sait, Nanjangud MLA Kalale Keshvamurthy, and other elected representatives, who attended the convention, expressed delight over the huge gathering. However, they did not get an opportunity to speak .

The organizers who had arranged food and water, supplied it to the visitors at discounted rates. Thousands of volunteers from across the state took care of the participants, served them food, and helped the police to regulate traffic.

The Mysuru city and surrounding areas witnessed heavy traffic congregation from Saturday to Tuesday with traffic jams on all major roads. Though most of the participants returned home after the event, thousands of them visited tourist spots such as Zoo, Palace, Ranganthittu Bird Sanctuary KRS etc before leaving for their places. Bus stands and railway station also witnessed unprecedented rush for four days.

The current physical distancing guidelines provided by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) may not be adequate to curb the coronavirus spread, according to a research which says the gas cloud from a cough or sneeze may help virus particles travel up to 8 metres. The research, published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, noted that the the current guidelines issued by the WHO and CDC are based on outdated models from the 1930s of how gas clouds from a cough, sneeze, or exhalation spread.

Study author, MIT associate professor Lydia Bourouiba, warned that droplets of all sizes can travel 23 to 27 feet, or 7-8 metres, carrying the pathogen.

According to Bourouiba, the current guidelines are based on "arbitrary" assumptions of droplet size, "overly simplified", and "may limit the effectiveness of the proposed interventions" against the deadly pandemic.

She explained that the old guidelines assume droplets to be one of two categories, small or large, taking short-range semi-ballistic trajectories when a person exhales, coughs, or sneezes.

However based on more recent discoveries, the MIT scientist said, sneezes and coughs are made of a puff cloud that carries ambient air, transporting within it clusters of droplets of a wide range of sizes.

Bourouiba warned that this puff cloud, with ambient air entrapped in it, can offer the droplets moisture and warmth that can prevent it from evaporation in the outer environment.

"The locally moist and warm atmosphere within the turbulent gas cloud allows the contained droplets to evade evaporation for much longer than occurs with isolated droplets," she said.

"Under these conditions, the lifetime of a droplet could be considerably extended by a factor of up to 1000, from a fraction of a second to minutes," the researcher explained in the study.

The MIT scientist, who has researched the dynamics of coughs and sneezes for years, added that these droplets settle along the trajectory of a cough or sneeze contaminating surfaces, with their residues staying suspended in the air for hours.

"Even when maximum containment policies were enforced, the rapid international spread of COVID-19 suggests that using arbitrary droplet size cutoffs may not accurately reflect what actually occurs with respiratory emissions, possibly contributing to the ineffectiveness of some procedures used to limit the spread of respiratory disease," Bourouiba wrote in the study

Thiruvananthapuram, May 22: Kerala reported its highest rise of COVID-19 cases in a single day with 42 new cases on Friday of which 23 returned from other states and 17 from abroad.

Two are cases of local transmission including one health worker in Kasargod.

"A total of 12 persons from Kannur district, seven in Kasargod district, five each from Kozhikode and Palakkad districts, four each in Thrissur and Malappuram districts, two from Kottayam district, and one each in Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Wayanad districts are those who have tested positive, " he said.

Kannur and Malappuram districts have 36 patients each, followed by 26 in Palakkad district, 21 in Kasargod district, 19 in Kozhikode district and 16 in Thrissur district.

The Chief Minister said that a 73-year-old woman had died in Thrissur district. She had recently returned from Mumbai.

There are 84,258 persons under observation across the state, 83,649 are quarantined at their homes or institutional quarantine centres and 609 are isolated in hospitals.

So far, 91,344 people have come to the state from foreign countries and other states by road, sea and air.

Expressing concern over the rising numbers, the Chief Minister said, "The increase in numbers is a serious warning. Our COVID-19 preventive measures need to be enhanced. More people are expected to come back and we will ensure proper testing, treatment and care to all. Serious patients are among those who are coming back."
"We will ensure additional facilities including ventilators in hospitals to accommodate more in-patients. Huge rush is being seen at some places. People should observe more self-restraint or else all efforts will become ineffective," he added.

Newsroom, Jan 26: An Indian Muslim youth who had applied for a job in Dubai has been left aghast after his prospective employer, who happens to be an Indian, mailed back chiding him for looking for work and suggested that he should make a living (sic) by joining anti-CAA protestors in Shaheen Bagh in New Delhi.

Shaheen Bagh is the epicentre of ongoing mass demonstrations against contentious Citizenship Amendment Act.

Abdulla S.S, a 23-year-old youth from Kerala, who had applied for a mechanical engineer’s position in Dubai said he is still reeling from the shock of the email he got from UAE-based Indian expat Jayant Gokhale in response to his job application last week.

Hostile response

“Just a thought. Why u need a job? Go to Delhi and sit in Shaheen Bagh for protest. Every day you will get Rs 1000. Free food i.e Biryani, Unlimited amount of Tea and Milk, some time sweets also,” Gokhale said in the email which has since gone viral.

Scores have shared the email on social media seeking action against Gokhale who runs a consultancy in Dubai. Many said the email is offensive on two counts. First, it ridicules and discriminates a job seeker on the basis of his religious identity and, second, it undermines the credibility of Shaheen Bagh protestors by suggesting that they are being paid to sit in.

Abdullah said he’s sad and appalled. “I shared Mr Gokhale’s email with some friends. Who would have thought it would go viral. I don’t want any controversy. All I want is a job,” he was quoted as saying.

Gokhale apologises

“I am suffering from ill-health and undergoing dialysis. My email is being blown out of proportion. I didn’t mean what I wrote,” Gokhale was quoted as saying by a Gulf based newspaper.

“My message to candidate was not intended to hurt anyone in any manner or discriminate. I have already sent apology message to the concerned person [Abdullah],” he said in the email reproduced here ad verbum. “I very much value UAE’s outlook, policies and culture. I do not in anyway like to go against values of UAE. In fact I am very thankful to UAE for looking after my health,” he added.

It is no wonder that this character is undergoing Dialysis. With the hate mentality that he is carrying, it is not wonder that GOD has given him punishment in the form of non-functional kidney. His apology is fake, the moment he lands in Mubai, he wil wag his tale again in his pathological hate for Muslims while licking mUslim shit.
