Kasaragod, Jan 16: A man from Kasaragod district who was arrested by the Delhi police recently for alleged plot to “kill a high profile personality”, is in fact an active leader of Bharatiya Janata Party.

CM Muhatasim alias Tasim alias Taslim, a resident of Chembarika in Kasaragod district, was picked up from Chattamchal by Vidyanagar police on January 11 as per the directions of Delhi police. The next day, Delhi police arrived in Kasaragod and took him to their custody. A case was registered against him under Section 120B IPC.

He was taken to Delhi on January 12 after presenting him in a local court in Kasaragod to get a transit warrant issued. Local media reports claimed that he was arrested for plotting to kill Hindutva leaders. Some Kannada TV channels also claimed that he was arrested for plotting to kill RSS veteran Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat.

However, according to the police here, the details of the charges were not revealed to them and a special team directly controlled by the district police chief helped the police team from Delhi. The only information they got was that the case was registered in Delhi last week and Delhi police reached here immediately.

A few years ago Muhatasim was accused of two passport forgery cases and also two murder attempt cases. For several years, he has been an active leader of minority morcha of the BJP. Following his arrest, Muhatasim’s dozens of photographs with BJP leaders from Kasaragod and Dakshina Kannada are doing rounds on social media platforms.

This storay is planned by Don and Iblees Munir with collaboration of sangh parivar and bjp leaders.   This is only a drama to gain sympathy of hindu voter and defame muslim community.  Actualy this creature Munir is a pet dog of sangh parivar.  He has changed his fatith but following muslim name only to cheat few muslims.   He is acting as agent of sangh parivar.    He is hiring unemployued youths like Tasleem only to fabricate issues like plan to kill hindu leaders.  Actually any hindu leader ever killed was by these name Munirs hired by sangh parivar to get sympathy.     Real muslim will never kill any one unnecessarily.    this creature Munir has already made ghar wapasi and licking slippers of sangh parivar leaders.   Muslims have kicked him out like shit.   Since he is not respecting his own religion how come he will respect others.   He is not following Shaitaan plus Iblees and making them happy.

Bengaluru, May 23: Karnataka reported 216 covid-19 positive cases in last 24 hours, marking the highest single day spike in the state ever since the first case was detected on 8 March. 187 of these 216 patients have recently returned from Maharashtra.

A 32-year old male resident of Bengaluru died on Saturday making it the 42nd fatality in the state.

The spike on Saturday takes the total number of covid-19 positive closer to the 2,000 mark and the number of active cases to 1,307 in the state, according to the daily health bulletin of the health department.

Yadgir in northern Karnataka recorded 72 cases on Saturday while Raichur recorded 40 cases. Cases in the sugarcane growing region of Mandya continued to rise as 28 people tested positive on Saturday that takes the total number of active cases to 211 as against Bengaluru that has 124.

Gadag registered 15 cases while Bengaluru recorded 4 cases.

Most of those who tested positive on Saturday had returned from other states, especially Maharashtra, one of the worst affected regions in the country.

The spike in cases comes even as the B.S.Yediyurappa-led state government is deliberating further easing of lockdown restrictions post 31 May. The state government has already resumed public bus and train services as well to facilitate inter-district movement of people that has added to fears of spreading the virus from cities to villages where healthcare infrastructure is poor and inadequate.

Karnataka will also see domestic flight arrivals from Monday.

In a statement on Saturday, Bengaluru International Airport said that it introduced ‘Parking-to-Boarding contactless’ journey.

“We have introduced innovative contactless procedures to minimise exposure at the Airport. These enhancements demonstrate our continued commitment to keep our passengers safe in this environment," said Hari Marar, managing director and chief executive of the airport said in a statement on Saturday.

Bengaluru, Jun 3: Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru on Tuesday intensified preventive measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 in a bid to make air-travel contactless.

The airport has introduced contact-less self-check-in kiosks, non-intrusive thermal cameras, self bag drop facility and other features.

Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) had earlier said that it will ensure that the taxis are sanitised and the drivers are screened before every trip to eliminate all chances of infection.

"Drivers have been instructed to maintain a safe distance. They will be encouraged to use hand sanitiser and face masks to make the car a safe space. Able-bodied passengers are advised to load their luggage into the car without the driver's assistance. For elderly citizens and passengers with reduced mobility, drivers will assist while following hygiene measures," BIAL statement had said.

The masks have been made mandatory for both drivers as well as passengers.

Karnataka on Monday reported 187 new cases of coronavirus, with which the State's total COVID-19 count has surged to 3,408.
