Guwahati, Mar 24: BJP leader Ram Madhav said here on Sunday that Congress leaders would probably win elections in Pakistan if they contest from the neighbouring country.

The BJP`s national general secretary alleged that tweets by opposition leaders were retweeted more in Pakistan than in India.

"Their statements are retweets more by the people of the neighbouring country than the people in our own country. If they go there and contest elections someday, they will probably win there. This is the condition of our principal opposition party," said Ram Madhav.

The BJP general secretary (in-charge of North East) said the opposition was in a "clueless" fight and people failed to understand whether they were "fighting for the cause of Pakistan or of India".

"The opposition is fighting a clueless fight. What they want to convey nobody understands, the people of the country do not understand the direction in which they want to show the country. Whether the opposition is fighting for Hindustan or for Pakistan, the country is unable to understand," he said. He said that opposition leaders use undignified language for Indian Army.

"The opposition leaders doubt our own forces. They not only question the achievements of our government but also use undignified language for our Army," said Madhav.

The BJP leader said there is a "Modi wave" in the country and the BJP and its allies will gain more seats in the coming elections as compared to 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

"You can see the condition of opposition, wherever Rahul Gandhi goes people start sloganeering "Modi-Modi". These days Priyanka Gandhi is visiting temples and there also she has to listen to "Modi-Modi`", said Madhav.

"The picture is clear that there is a Modi wave in the country. Conventional political wisdom says that there cannot be a wave in favour of the ruling party as the wave is always created by the opposition. However, Narendra Modi is the one person who has broken the conventions several times in the past," said the BJP leader.

The BJP general secretary (in-charge of North East) said that BJP is confident of winning all the 10 seats it is contesting in Assam, and the BJP and its partners will win the elections in North-East, from all places they are contesting.

The 17th Lok Sabha election, which will be held in seven phases beginning April 11. The final phase of voting will take place on May 19. The counting of votes will be done on May 23.

Viewing defeat in coming election, bjp leaders have gone mad and giving illogic statements.  They are frustrated by public backlash to them.  Everywhere bjp people are being mocked, shown chappals and being beaten by ladies.   Situation of bjp is like a saying "paap ki nayya dubne ko aayi hai".   There is limit for eveything and bjp has crossed all the levels of lying, cheating, looting, goondagardi, false encounters, mob lynching, rape, etc etc etc etc.    Poeple are fed up frombjp and want a change this time and i am sure it will be.  We need bjp mukt bharat.

Lucknow, Jan 16: The drive initiated by Uttar Pradesh's Yogi Adityanath government to identify non-Muslim immigrants in the state seems to have run into rough weather.

In Pilibhit, where the maximum number of about 35,000 illegal immigrants has been identified, it has now been found that information is being sought by the state government on an unverified document. A large number of families from Bangladesh settled here several decades ago.

The survey began last month even before the bill was notified. Moreover, the feedback email on the questionnaire is a Gmail ID -- [email protected] -- which is not a government server.

It is not known how the state government is drawing up the lists without having the verification criteria.

After the report was put up by a news website, Home Department officials feigned complete ignorance about the issue.

A spokesman said: "This was an unofficial and preliminary exercise to assess the number of illegal migrants in the state. The document is meant to collect basic beneficiary information. No list of potential beneficiaries has yet been sent to Delhi."

The document has eight columns asking for name, father's name, place of stay in India, and where did they come from and when. It does not mention any requirement of proof, or documents.

It also asks for a description of the kind of atrocities they faced, presumably in their home country.

The District Magistrate of Pilibhit claimed they are checking documents of the refugees, but denied any knowledge of the unsigned document.

The CAA is meant to benefit Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan who came to India before December 31, 2014. The statement of purposes of the Act adds that it is meant to benefit those fleeing religious persecution from the above countries.

Yogi is unfit to be CM as he does not know what he speaks and does.   Its unfortunate that we are such idiot as CM.    Instead of CAA we need PAA (Politician amendment act).    We need age limit of politicians to be fixed to 65 or maximum 70 years and any one coming in politics to be free from any bad doing.   No rapists/murders/looters/decoits should be allowed to contest election.   Presently 90 percent of the politicians have bad record.  Few are rapists, murders, having spent jail term etc.

Washington, Feb 14: The United States has called for making Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Saeed accountable for his involvement in the planning of "numerous acts of terrorism, including 2008 Mumbai attacks". "We continue to call for Hafiz Saeed to be held accountable for his involvement in the planning of numerous acts of terrorism, including 2008 Mumbai attacks that killed 166 innocent people, including 6 Americans," US State Department spokesperson said on Thursday (February 13, 2020).

US State Department spokesperson said this while commenting on the Saeed`s conviction in terror financing cases.

The spokesperson said Hafiz Saeed`s conviction on terror financing is a step towards curtailing the operation of a terrorist group that threatens peace and stability in South Asia.

"We urge Pakistan to continue to take appropriate legal action against individuals who commit acts of terrorism, raise funds for, or advocate for terrorism," the official said.

On Wednesday, Alice Wells, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of US for South and Central Asian Affairs had termed the conviction of 26/11 Mumbai terror attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed as an "important step forward" towards holding terrorist organisation LeT "accountable for its crimes".

"Today`s conviction of Hafiz Saeed and his associate is an important step forward - both toward holding LeT accountable for its crimes and for #Pakistan in meeting its international commitments to combat terrorist financing," she tweeted.

"And as @ImranKhanPTI has said, it is in the interest of #Pakistan`s future that it not allow non-state actors to operate from its soil," she said in another tweet.

An anti-terrorism court in Lahore, Pakistan on Wednesday sentenced Mumbai terror attack mastermind and chief of the banned Jamaat-ud -Dawa (JuD) Hafiz Saeed to five-and-a-half years in prison each in two terror financing cases.

Pakistan based Dawn reported that he was slapped with a prison sentence of five-and-a-half years and a fine of Rs15,000 in each case and the sentences of both cases will run concurrently.
