Congress is responsible for the growth of BJP in Dakshina Kannada: SDPI

Mangaluru, May 26: The Social Democratic Party of India has said that the 46,839 votes secured by its Lok Sabha candidate Mohammed Eliyas in Dakshina Kannada were the ones of people disgusted by the BJP’s communal agenda and the Congress’s breach of trust.

In a statement, SDPI Dakshina Kannada district unit president Athaullah Jokatte, said that the Congress should take the blame for the rise of BJP in the coastal region as it has failed to effectively counter the latter.

People will pay a heavy price for bringing the BJP back to power for the second term, he said.

 Your votes benifited BJP more than congress.SDPI must explain to people what it attained by contesting..only benifited BJP to claim EVM victory.

U are afraid before others to start discussing on the matter.

When u know Congressis the only party confronting e BJP why did yu ditectly contest thus spoiling votes of Congress. You will be answerable to your creator for create worst situation to facilitate the enimy.and what did you achieve by doing so. Bengaluru, Jun 3: Former Union minister and senior Congress leader K H Muniyappa on Wednesday extended his support to former Prime minister and JD(S) National president H D Deve Gowda in the Rajya Sabha polls.

In a statement issued here here, Mr Muniyappa said that party which had an electoral understanding in the Lok Sabha elections, may extend support to Gowda in the June-19 Rajya Sabha elections from Karnataka.

It may be recalled that the Election Commission of India, is conducting elections to Rajya Sabya to fill four vacancies from the Karnataka Assembly, in which the ruling BJP may bag two seats, while the remaining may be won by the Congress and the JD(S).

Bengaluru, Mar 10: Karnataka Health Minister B Sriramulu on Tuesday paid a surprise visit to the Kempegowda International Airport and checked all measures taken by authorities and doctors to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Till date, 45 people have tested positive for the deadly coronavirus infection across India.

A resident of Bengaluru was tested positive for coronavirus on Monday.

Mangaluru, May 31: A yellow alert has been sounded in eight districts of Karnataka, amidst the Indian Meteorological Department’s (IMD) prediction that the low pressure area formed over Arabian Sea and Lakshadweep may to intensify further into a cyclonic storm.

The yellow has been sounded in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Chikkamagaluru, Kodagu, Hassan, Shivamogga and Chamarajanagara till June 1.

Moderate to heavy rain is expected to lash parts of coastal Karnataka today and tomorrow. 

The IMD has assessed that the situation is favourable for the onset of southwest monsoon. In view of the enhanced cloud cover and the deepening of southwesterly winds up to mid tropospheric levels, the southwest monsoon advanced further.

The IMD has also advised fishermen to avoid fishing in west coast of India from May 31 to June 4.
