Malaysia has right not to extradite Dr Zakir Naik to India: PM Mahathir Mohamad

Kuala Lumpur, Jun 10: Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad on Monday said that his country has the right not to extradite controversial Islamic preacher Zakir Naik to India, since the fugitive evangelist claims he will not get a fair trial back home, according to a media report.

Naik, a 53-year-old television preacher, reportedly left India in 2016 and subsequently moved to largely Muslim Malaysia, where he was granted permanent residency.

"Zakir in general feels that he is not going to get a fair trial (in India)," Mahathir was quoted as saying by The Star newspaper.

He compared the situation to Australia refusing to extradite former police commando Sirul Azhar Umar, who was sentenced to death in Malaysia in 2015 for killing a Mongolian model.

"We requested Australia to extradite Sirul and they are afraid we are going to send him to the gallows," the prime minister said.

Naik was booked by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in 2016 based on a National Investigation Agency FIR that was registered under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.

The ED last month said that Naik received crores of funds in his and his trusts' bank accounts from unidentified "well wishers" over the years for his speeches that spread "hatred and incited Muslim youths" to take up terrorism.

The Islamic Research Foundation (IRF), Mumbai-based charity trust promoted and controlled by Naik, "allegedly received funds in the form of donations and zakat (a form of alms giving in Islam) from domestic as well as overseas donors from countries like the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Malaysia among others," the ED said.

Hindu brother must think who is GOD and what is truth...most politician are not good hindus they divide people in the name of religion and make innocent people fight each other...who will get benifit..only they..

Naik clearely says that there is no image of GOD, even idol

if hindu brother read veda like we read quran in madras, then they will understand the clear concept of GOD.

no religion book will tell kill another human beign...do you think god himself create human and want to be killer by other...this is stong point..what ever the religion every human is create by GOD and he want us to obey his comendment and live in peace...respect each other

some marons exist in all religion thta does not means all religion people are same.

if we take some example,

hijbul mujeedeen, jaise muhammed ect all kept the name which is related to islam religion and make crime on innocen people

similarly ram sane, bajranga dal, sive sane etc all keept  the name which is related to Hindu religion and hide there crime on humanity when they are in trouble.

we human beign must understand that our life is very small say max 90 years,...what we done in this world will be ladder for our sucess after death...we should do good to any human being.

All religious book says same thing

Give maximum benifit to mankind it may be even small work atleast smile...GOD will give mercy on the day of judgement and he loves this kind of person
