Hassan, Jun 25: In a bizarre incident, a man who was transporting a cow after stealing it was killed by the same cow at Appenahalli village of Channarayapatna taluk in Hassan district.

The deceased has been identified as Govindappa, a 50-year-old man from Tipatur in Tumakuru district. The police have confirmed that he had stolen the cow from a farm house. Rumours are doing rounds on social media that he was a Hindutva activist. However the police have not confirmed it.

According to postmortem report, Govindappa died on the spot when the cow kicked him in his private part in an apparent bid to escape from him.

The police said that Govindappa had already taken the cow two kilometers away and was about to transport it in a vehicle when the animal showed its presence of mind.

A case has been registered in this regard at jurisdictional Nuggehalli police station.

I am 100% confident that this cow matha thief is BD activist and this is their daily duty.   They steal cows and blames on muslims/christians.  In most of the cases stolen cows are transported to Gujrat beef exporting factories owned by Pandits/Brahmins with bjp leaders as partners.   this thief got just punishment from the cow itself, otherwise police would have said that he purchased the cow and was taking it home.

Mysuru, Jan 27: Chief minister BS Yediyurappa on Sunday refused to field questions on the state’s finances, merely saying his budget on March 5 will do the talking. The question came in the wake of Siddaramaiah, leader of the opposition, claiming recently that the state’s coffers were dry and its finances were in the doldrums.

However, Yediyurappa insisted the state’s finances were sound and it will be better once promises made by the business community during his trip to Davos turn into concrete investment.

“I will present the budget for 2020-21 on March 5. People will then know about the state’s financial position,” Yediyurappa said during a visit to Suttur Mutt on Sunday. “I will answer Siddaramaiah’s comments during the forthcoming budget session of the state legislature. The Davos meet I attended will benefit the state immensely. It will bring huge investments that will promote industry and agriculture growth and various job-generation activities.”

Bengaluru, Feb 26: Congress leaders on Wednesday staged a protest in front of Mahatma Gandhi's statue at Vidhana Soudha here against BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yathnal's alleged remarks accusing freedom fighter HS Doreswamy of being a "Pakistani agent".

Former Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Siddaramaiah, KPCC working president Eashwar Khandre also joined the protest.

Yathnal on Tuesday called Doreswamy a fake freedom fighter and a Pakistani agent, while addressing the media.

His comments triggered a controversy drawing sharp remarks from Congress and other parties.

Congress has demanded an apology from Yathnal and has also urged that his Assembly membership be cancelled.

"Session proceedings will not continue until Yathnal apologises," said senior Congress leader HK Patil while addressing the protest earlier today.

Siddaramaiah asserted that making "provocative" comments against such a freedom fighter is obnoxious.

Former KPCC president Dr G Parameshwar said: "Yathnal is a criminal who had mentioned in his election affidavit that he had 27 cases against him. He has made such loose comments against the freedom fighter. He should apologise for his remarks."
