Kuwait: Hundreds benefit from Quran learning workshop

Salmiya (Kuwait), May 13: Hyderabad Muslim Welfare Association (HMWA), in association with Cuddapah Welfare Society and Federation of Indian Muslim Association (FIMA), conducted a Quran learning programme, a two-day workshop titled ‘Ao Quran Samjhen (Let’s Understand Quran)’.

The workshop was conducted by Dr. Abdul Azeez Abdul Raheem, a renowned Islamic scholar and two of his associates Khaja Najmuddin Ahsan and Abdul Rabb. The workshop was held for seven hours each day, on May 4 and May 5 at the Salmiya Indian Model School, Kuwait.

The programme was aimed at enabling non-Arabic speaking Muslims to understand the Quran with the help of modern word learning techniques through findings of the research carried out by Dr. Abdul Azeez and his associates.

Dr. Abdul Azeez, who hails from Hyderabad, India, is currently a professor at the King Fahad University of Petroleum and Mines and teaches geotechnical engineering.

Through his research-driven mind he developed some easy yet useful tips and tools to understand Quranic words which can be very useful for the common man. He studied the roots of 125 words that are repeated 40,000 times in the Quran and helped people learn them through easy techniques.

As many as 650 people including men, women and children above 12 years of age got benefited from this workshop. People who used to watch his videos on YouTube were very delighted to have him live in Kuwait and to learn a great treasure of the Quran.

To honor Dr. Abdul Azeez and his associates, a small concluding session was held at the end of the workshop, which was presided over by Engr. Abdul Azeez Al Duaij, the Director of IPC Dawah, Kuwait.

During his address to the audience, Engr. Abdul Azeez Duaij urged people to come towards understanding the Quran and hailed the efforts contributed by Dr. Abdul Azeez and his associates for this cause. He stressed the importance of this divine revelation and asserted all possible ways to help increase Quranic activities in Kuwait.

FIMA President Mukhtar Maroof applauded the efforts of all volunteers who worked diligently in organizing this programme and thanked Abdul Azeez Duaij for his sustained support in conducting all types of welfare activities and religious programmes in Kuwait.

Mementoes were presented by Engr. Abdul AzeezDuaij, Mukhtar Maroof, Anis Ahmed, director of Salmiya Indian Model School, and Kareem Irfan, ex-President of FIMA, to all visiting programme teachers.

The programme was conducted by the HMWA President Abdul Azeem and the vote of thanks was delivered by General Secretary Ifthekhar Ahmed.

All the participants showed enormous satisfaction after attending the two-day workshop and took home with them a great treasure; understanding of over 40,000 Quranic words, and requested the organizers to repeat these types of programmes so that they can learn more and more Quran and help themselves to attain the path of guidance.

Dammam: Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka chapter distributed Food Kits for Indian expatriates labors who were in trouble due to Corona lockdown on April 6, 2020 at a labor camp here in Al Khobar.

The labors, most of them are from the staes of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh And Uttar Pradesh, were in trouble without food.

 Recieving the information leaders of Indian Social Forum immediately visited the camp to take survey.

Indian Social Forum with the help of donors distributed food kits. Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka Chapter president Mr.Mohammed Shareef Jokatte expressed gratitude for donors for their contribution.

Indian Overseas Congress (IOC) Chaiman Dr Sam Pitroda held video conference with senior IOC office bearers across Middle Eastern countries on 14th April 2020 to review the impact of COVID-19 pandemic among Indians residing in the region. Almost all speakers appreciated the efforts initiated and  implemented by  respective governments to contain spread of the deadly virus as well as measures taken towards welfare of the people affected by the lockdown. 

IOC Presidents, Mohammed Mansour - Bahrain, Abdullah Manjeri - Saudi Arabia, Dr J Ratan kunar - Oman and Girish kumar - Qatar, highlighted the quality treatment of patients and finacial aid provided by governments and other authorities. Bahrain IOC president Mansour , also  apprised about the 'Food for Needy' drive in Association with KHK Heroes foundation, initiated by HH Sheikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al Khalifa and quality treatments as well as financial aid to local and expat residents.

Anura Mathai, IOC  Global Event Coordinator, spoke about certain problems of Indians in the UAE. IOC Middle East Convener, Mansoor Palloor, emphasised and requested IOC Chairman to urge Indian government to arrange immediate repatriation of indians stranded in Gulf countries. AICC Secretary, Himanshu Vyas, IOC Secretary Dr Arathi Krishna, Dr Arshi Malik (Abha), Mohiuddin Sirajudeen (Jeddah), Advocate Joseph Palathara (Dammam) Prasad Kodru, Jayati Maitra Ziyad Ahmed (Qatar) and Khursheed Alam (Gen Secretary- Bahrain) also apprised the participants about various issues relevant to the pandemic and suggested further initiatives to be undertaken. 

Dr Sam Pitroda briefed about sustained and consolidated efforts by all IOC members  during this unprecedented situation facing the world and assured that he would convey IOC  concerns to the government and try his best to ensure all possible help is made available to all needy Indians.

Indian Social Forum, Eastern Province Central Committee, Saudi Arabia organized Republic Day program at AlRyan Policlinic Restaurant Auditorium, Dammam on 25th January 2020.

Abdul Waris, Former Chairman of Indian International School Dammam Inaugurated the program.

Wasim Rabbani, president of Indian Social Forum, Eastern Province Central Committee Presided over the program.
