Advocate Katnamane Vittala Gowda, who claims to be Kodagu district president of a group called Prajaranga', filed the complaint on Monday, accusing Ramya of “insulting” Indian patriots by “praising” Pakistan.

He urged the court to direct the police to book Ramya for “sedition” and for “disturbing” peace in Karnataka.

JMFC court judge, Shyam Prasad, admitted the complaint and posted the hearing to August 27. Ramya had made the remark at a convention in Mandya on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee working president Dinesh Gundu Rao defended Ramya for her remark on Pakistan.

Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru, he said she was only sharing her experience of her recent visit to Pakistan. She has not made any controversial statement, he said.

Very Low level of thinking.

The Gov't of India is keeping their embassy and maintaining all normal relations with Pakistan like these with any other countries.

Praising anybody is always the sign of your goodness. But condemning blindly is bad.
Find the reasons why is it happening. All because of Kashmir issues not solving politically. Until the issue is fairly solved, this unrest between 3parties will carry on with all future generations.
Unfortunately innocent civilians and soldiers have to pay the price.

Study the problem, think and advise the government to find a fair solutions

Bidar, Mar 4: The Principal District and Sessions Court in Bidar, on Tuesday, granted conditional bail to five functionaries of Shaheen School management — Abdul Qadeer, Allauddin Pasha, Mehtab Sait, Bilal Inamdar and Abdul Khaleq — who moved anticipatory bail in a sedition case slapped against their school recently.

Conditions

Senior advocate B.T. Venkatesh from Bengaluru argued for the petitioners. Managoli Premavati Mallikarjuna granted bail on certain conditions, including execution of personal bond of ₹2 lakh each.

The sedition case was filed against the Shaheen School management for its children staging a play as part of their annual day celebrations on January 21, in which a character had allegedly delivered a dialogue against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

While Nazbunnisa, the mother of the child who had allegedly delivered the dialogue in the play, and Fareeda Begum, the headmistress of the school, were arrested, they were subsequently released on bail last month.

Bengaluru, July 17: The government of Karnataka has decided to issue caste and income certificates to Brahmins in the state to reduce the socio-economic inequality faced by the community.

“A notification has been issued to tehsildars in all 30 districts to issue caste and income certificates to Brahmins so that they can also benefit from the government schemes and scholarships,” a Revenue Department official told said.

The notification comes a month after the Karnataka State Brahmin Development Board on June 10 appealed to Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa to issue the certificates to the traditionally dominant community, which accounts for 3 per cent of the 7 crore state population.

“Though Brahmins are in ‘minority’ in terms of their population across the state, they need caste and income certificates to benefit from the welfare schemes meant for the economic weaker sections such as SC, ST and OBC groups,” the official said.

The board was set up in March 2019 as a state-run company with Rs 5 crore authorised capital and Rs 5 crore equity and is registered with the Registrar of Companies.

The notification was issued to the local bodies and taluk offices after several members of the community complained to state Revenue Minister R. Ashoka that they were unable to benefit from the welfare schemes in the absence of the certificates.

The certificates will also help students from the community to avail scholarships for higher studies from the state-funded board if their gross annual family income is less than Rs 8 lakh per year.

The board has also urged the state government to implement the 10 per cent quota for its community members under the economically weaker sections, as applicable for Central government jobs and admissions to central institutions.

Noting that every community has people who are forward and backward economically for various reasons, including historical, the official said the board would be empowered to serve the Brahmins.

“The board will provide interest-free loans to the financially weaker sections of the community,” said its Chairman H.S. Sachidananda Murthy.
