Udupi, Oct 12: Members of the Hindu Jagrana Vedike (HJV) and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) staged a dharna in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office here on Wednesday against what they termed as “anti-Hindu” policies of the Congress-led State government and against the arrest of leaders and activists of Hindutva groups.

In a memorandum addressed to the Governor and submitted at the Deputy Commissioner’s office, these organisations said that the State government, led by the Congress, was obstructing the social and religious activities of the majority Hindu community. It was forcing the police to arrest innocent activists of the Hindutva groups.

There was an undeclared Emergency in the coastal districts. There were systematic attempts to snatch the rights of the Hindus. The government had placed restrictions on Jagadish Karanth, Regional Organising Secretary of Hindu Jagrana Vedike, from attending Hindu conventions.

The activists of the Hindutva groups were prevented by the personnel of police and forest departments from purifying the statue of Deyi Baideti, the mother of the legendary heroes of Tulu Nadu, Koti-Chennayya, which had been earlier defiled in Dakshina Kannada district. This was nothing but an assault on the democratic rights of the citizens.

B. Ramanath Rai, Minister for Forests and Environment, had openly directed the police to foist cases against RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat and get him arrested. The police had raided the houses of leaders of pro-Hindu groups who had tried to stop untoward incidents during the funeral procession of the RSS worker, Sharath Madivala, who was murdered in Dakshina Kannada recently. Instead of taking action against cow slaughterers, the government was targeting cow protectors, the memorandum said.

If you advocate   HINDUTWA for the whole country by force,  then you are not INNOCENT.

You are committing attrocities, you can be criminal.

If you want true Hindu, then preach its ideology, but dont force it on others.

First yourself Follow what is in the Geetha. set an example. Your example is better than preaching.

Then preach others.

Mangaluru, Apr 3: The Dakshina Kannada district administration’s decision to ban use of private vehicles, excluding permitted categories, from Friday for effective implementation of lockdown, began showing results since morning itself.

Mangaluru City Traffic Police and Dakshina Kannada district police erected several pickets at vantage places on arterial roads to check those moving without a valid reason. Several two-wheelers were seized during the checking while a few car drivers were let off with a strict warning.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (Traffic), M Manjunatha Shetty, who was supervising a picket at Hampankatta, said that movement of private vehicles has drastically reduced in the city.

Speaking to ANI, Rao said: "We have created and flown this special kite to welcome the US President. The kite is 15 feet long."

Earlier, an Amritsar-based kite maker in Punjab had designed special kites to welcome Trump.

"As Donald Trump will be visiting India, so I have made some kites to welcome him. There are kites with pictures of PM Narendra Modi and Donald Trump," said Jagmohan Kanojia, the kite maker.

Preparations are on across the country to welcome Trump, who is scheduled to visit India on February 24 and 25.

During the visit, Trump is scheduled to participate in a roadshow with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will address a gathering at the Motera stadium.

Bengaluru, Jul 29: A day after Congress staged a nationwide 'Save Democracy' protest, Janata Dal (Secular) leader HD Kumaraswamy slammed Congress for "dividing" the political parties and "buying MLAs" and questioned their "democratic behaviour" to lure Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MLAs who supported them.

Kumaraswamy, in a media statement, said, "Is it a democratic behaviour to lure MLAs of other parties through political shenanigans and later merging with them?"

"Congress is an expert in dividing political parties and purchase of MLAs," said Kumaraswamy adding, "If you are dividing the like-minded party MLAs through deceit, who would support you?"

He alleged that the term "horse trade" in politics came to be used because of Congress.

Congress had tied to divide the Janata Dal (Secular) in 2004. To this, he added, "To avoid the party being hijacked by the Congress, I had to oust the Congress-JD(S) coalition government through a political coup."

Kumaraswamy further accused, "Haven't the Congress who is making a big noise about the purchase of MLAs divided the JD(S) in the past? Is it not a fact that for the sake of one Rajya Sabha seat, the Congress government in Karnataka purchased eight JD(S) MLAs?"

Both -- Congress and BJP -- are "criminals" in purchase matter, he added.

Rajasthan Congress is in turmoil after simmering differences between Sachin Pilot and Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot came out in the open. Pilot was removed as the Deputy Chief Minister and the state unit chief of Congress.

The Congress has accused the BJP of indulging in horse-trading to bring down the Gehlot government. The BJP has rejected the allegations.
