Bengaluru, Jan 14: Concerned over alleged attempts by opposition Bharatiya Janata Party to destabilise the JD(S)-Congress government in Karnataka by luring ruling party MLAs, Congress ministers met here on Monday to discuss the issue and work out strategies to thwart any such attempt.
The meeting convened by the Deputy Chief minister G Parameshwara, ostensibly to discuss about the presentation of the Budget for the year 2019-20, was attended by senior ministers and also Co-ordination Committee Chairman and former Chief minister Siddaramaiah.
According to sources, the ministers discussed at length the discreet moves by the BJP leaders both in the State and the central leadership levels to topple the 7-month-old coalition government, and on ways to ‘protect’ the party MLAs targeted by the BJP leaders.
