Congress-BJP having tacit deal: Kejriwal

Varanasi, April 29: The AAP convenor asked why Congress president Sonia Gandhi and BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi had not campaigned in each other’s constituencies.kejriwal

Raking up both the snoopgate and Robert Vadra land deal controversies, AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday accused both the Congress and the BJP of having a tacit pre-poll understanding and not taking any action against each other on the two issues.

He also asked why Congress president Sonia Gandhi and BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi had not campaigned in each other’s constituencies.

Targeting the Gujarat Chief Minister, Mr. Kejriwal said, “Narendra Modi should clarify his stand on Vadra issue. If BJP is really serious on this issue, why BJP-led Rajasthan government doesn’t register an FIR against him.

“BJP and Congress have joined hands. They just pass comments against each other, but their party-led governments don’t take action against their ‘men’,” he told reporters here.

“If I could register an FIR against Sheila Dikshit and Mukesh Ambani, why BJP-led government cannot register an FIR against Vadra in the last four months in Rajasthan,” he asked.

Going on to target Congress, Mr. Kejriwal said, “If Congress-led UPA Government is really serious on Adani issue, so why doesn’t it ask CBI to probe his role. They (BJP and Congress) don’t do nothing, but only pass comments against each other.”

The AAP leader accused both the parties of having an understanding.

“It has been four months since probe in the snoopgate scandal was handed over to CBI. If CBI wanted, Mr. Modi would have been arrested. BJP and Congress have their deals,” he charged.

Referring to Mr. Modi’s remarks on the issue of taking action against Mr. Vadra, he charged, “There is an internal setting between Congress and BJP“.

Mr. Modi had recently said there will be no witch-hunt against Mr. Vadra.

Condemning the attack on his party volunteers here, he alleged that BJP “goons” were trying to create an environment of fear among the people of Varanasi and also among AAP supporters.

The former Delhi Chief Minister alleged that BJP workers were beating AAP supporters in different parts of Varanasi.

“Violence is not the culture of Varanasi. BJP is creating an atmosphere of terrorism in Varanasi. They (BJP) threaten AAP supporters. BJP workers also tore posters of AAP installed on autos,” he charged.

Mr. Kejriwal claimed that Mr. Modi will lose the elections from Varanasi seat so this is BJP’s ‘baukhalahat’ (restlessness) that they are resorting to such physical attacks.

“Earlier these attacks were confined to me but now BJP goons are targeting AAP supporters. If this is the kind of situation before elections then what will happen after elections if even by mistake Modi wins from here. Imagine what kind of situation will be there in Varanasi and this country,” he said.

“I want to tell them that we will not get scared by such attacks and fight for the country to save the culture of Varanasi and country,” he said.

He demanded that central forces be deployed in Rohania and Sevapuri constituencies of the city as people in villages might be “stopped from voting“.

“It’s the feedback that we have got from villages in both these constituencies,” said Mr. Kejriwal.

He also said that if need be, central forces must be deployed in the rest of the city so that people can go to vote freely and free from any fear of BJP.

Panaji (Goa)/Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), Bengaluru(Karnataka)/New Delhi [India], June 8 (ANI): With the government allowing the re-opening of restaurants and eateries from Monday, these establishments re-opened across several states on Monday including in Goa, Madhya Pradesh and Delhi, with necessary precautions in place amid COVID-19 crisis.

Restaurants reopened in Panaji today after relaxations in lockdown.

Speaking to ANI, Goa Hotel and Restaurant Association President, Gaurish Dhond said, "We expect that not more than 25 per cent of restaurants will reopen because our labour force is dependent upon migrant workers who have gone to their homes".

"Every guest will be checked with a thermal gun, we will provide them with a sanitizer and a digital menu most probably. We would like to request our customers to pay online. Residential hotels are also allowed to operate and guidelines have been issued for them," he added.

Bars are not allowed to operate, he added.

While religious places across the country were thrown open today, worship places continued to remain closed in Goa till June 30.

In Bhopal restaurants opened but with fewer customers venturing to eat outside.

Speaking to ANI, C Kumaran, Manager, India Coffee House, New Market said, "We will conduct a temperature check for customers at the entry point. Then the customers will have to wash and sanitize their hands only then they will be allowed to sit inside. Only two persons will be allowed to sit on a four-seat table."

"This restaurant has a seating capacity of around 120 persons which has now been reduced to 50. Even in the kitchen, staff capacity has been reduced to 50 per cent," he added.

Meanwhile, malls re-opened in Bengaluru today, people along with staff members were allowed to enter inside Garuda Mall while maintaining social distancing.

"As per government norms, we are following all the preventive measures. Staff and other people are being sanitized and then only allowed inside the mall. The mall has been deep cleaned. People entering the mall should have Aarogya Setu App installed in their mobile phones if not, they will be sent back," said John Joseph, Manager, Garuda Mall.

Restaurants re-opened in the national capital as Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal announced yesterday that all restaurants and malls are allowed to resume operations from today.

Srinagar, Jun 30: On the deadly attack at Karachi Stock Exchange on Monday morning, a Kashmiri social activist and journalist warned that the incident is a stark reminder to all those in Pakistan supporting Jihad and attacked Pakistan prime minister Imran Khan for ignoring development agenda in Balochistan.

Yana Mir, the editor-in-chief of The Real Kashmir News, said, "Karachi Stock Exchange attack is a reminder to all those in Pakistan supporting Jihad. Remember @imrankhan that Youth is restless and they want development agenda. These young boys of BLA are also looking for a life which is settled and peaceful. Wake up Imran Khan and you Kashmiris also. Pakistan is going to finish you. Open your eyes."
Four heavily armed terrorists attacked the busy Pakistan Stock Exchange building in Karachi with grenades today, killing four security guards and a police officer before being shot dead in an exchange of fire, authorities said.

The terrorists, who arrived in a car, stormed the Karachi Stock Exchange building by firing indiscriminately and lobbed grenades at the main gate of the multi-storey building situated in the city's high-security commercial hub.

Balochistan is a well-known region rich in natural resources but the Balochis have always been deprived of basic facilities. No hospitals are available in Balochistan. If there are some then medical facilities and equipment are not available in hospitals. The education system is pathetic and similar is the case with the infrastructure: the roads, water system, agriculture and almost all fields of life.

It is pertinent to mention that enforced disappearances and abductions by the Pakistani military establishment have also been carried out regularly and for innumerable times in Balochistan. Leaders, activists, and vocal members of various student organizations have been detained by the security forces and kept in confinement. While others have been shot dead.

This crime against humanity has been going on for so long and so systematically in Balochistan that it has come to be considered as a normal state of affairs in the province. Many social and human rights activists have flagged the issue of oppression by the Pakistani establishment before the United Nations and other international agencies.

According to the Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances, an entity established by the Pakistani government, about 5,000 cases of enforced disappearances have been registered since 2014. Most of them are still unresolved.

Independent local and international human rights organisations put the numbers much higher. Around 20,000 have reportedly been abducted only from Balochistan, out of which more than 2,500 have turned up dead as bullet-riddled dead bodies, bearing signs of extreme torture.

Before being elected as Prime Minister, Imran Khan had admitted in multiple interviews about the involvement of Pakistan's intelligence agencies in enforced disappearances as well as extrajudicial killings and vowed to resign if he was unable to put an end to the practice, holding those involved responsible. But times have passed and only reports are available to narrate the true story.
