Mangaluru, May 5: A senior leader of Vishwa Hindu Parishad has accused the Karnataka’s incumbent Congress government of supporting Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) and Popular Front of India (PFI) and claimed that it has endangered the national security.

Speaking to media persons in the city Gopal, regional organising secretary of the VHP for Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, said that too much appeasement of minorities by the Congress government has forced cadre of the VHP and affiliated units to actively involve themselves in the State election campaigning.

“The minority appeasement by the Siddaramaiah government has gone to a level that harms national security. The Congress has aligned with the SDPI and PFI, whose members are accused in some murders reported in the State. Hence, we are actively campaigning against the Congress,” he said.

He said that the Sangh Parivar cadre were actively involved in the 2014 Lok Sabha election campaign.

He said that people have to vote for candidates who work in an unbiased manner for the development of the State and country. Voters should not accept money and other offers made by candidates and their supporters, he added.

Kalaburagi, Feb 20: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader Waris Pathan on Wednesday said that 15 crore Muslims can dominate 100 crore Hindus.

"The time has now come for us to unite and achieve freedom. Remember we are 15 crore but can dominate over 100 crores," said Pathan while addressing an anti-CAA rally here.

"They tell us that we have kept our women in the front - only the lionesses have come out and you are already sweating. You can understand what would happen if all of us come together," he said.

The CAA grants citizenship to Hindu, Sikh, Jain, Parsi, Buddhist, and Christian refugees from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh, who came to India on or before December 31, 2014.

Protests have erupted across the country against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), the National Register of Citizens (NRC) and the National Population Register (NPR).

Udupi, Apr 7: The district administrations of Udupi and Uttara Kannada districts have appealed to the state government to request Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) to allow COVID-19 tests at Manipal’s Kasturba Hospital.

Kasturba Hospital was granted approval by the ICMR to conduct tests on samples to detect the novel coronavirus on March 24, however it rescinded it later.

Udupi district Deputy Commissioner (DC) G Jagadeesha stated that the Council did not provide any reason for the cancellation of approval; his office has requested the Chief Secretary to pressurise the Council in granting approval again.
