Bengaluru, Dec 17: Congress is setting fire on various issues in the country, according to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh. Addressing a public meeting held in Bengaluru as part of Bharatiya Janata Party’s state-wide Parivarthana rally on Sunday, he said that it was BJP which was trying to douse the fire and not the other way round.

“We have been dousing fire set by the Congress in the country,” the minister said responding to the statement by newly-elected Congress party president Rahul Gandhi, who on Saturday accused the BJP of stoking fire in the country. Mr. Singh was addressing a public meeting held in Bengaluru as part of BJP’s state-wide Parivarthana rally on Sunday.

“It is not BJP’s policy that led to birth of terrorism or naxalism. BJP’s policy did not lead to 1984 violence or Punjab issue. Our policy did not start fire in Kashmir,” he said, adding that it was BJP which was fire-fighting and not the Congress. He also said that it was not BJP’s policy that has given rise to dynasty politics in the country.

Stating that India had emerged as a strong nation now, the Home Minister said: “If India was a weak nation, it would not be possible to settle the Doklam deadlock on the Indo-China border. China has also accepted that India is not a weak nation any more. China feels that it should maintain a good relationship with India,” he added.

Dear Rajnath, please dont lie to this extent.  We know who is lying.  You have made this statement my mistake.  Instead of saying bjp sets fire and congress puts if off you said congress sets fire and bjp puts it off.   We know who set fire in Honnavar + Kumta + Sirsi etc.   Dont try to fool us dear.  We know that you are a Master Degree holder  in lying from Nagpur university.   Please feel shame and try to understand what are you saying.   You cannot fool us all the time.   You should know this and it will be better for you.

Bengaluru, Feb 4: Congress MLA UT Khader on Tuesday alleged that B.S. Yediyurappa-led government has stopped providing free food to poor families under 'Anna Bhagya' scheme from last two months which was started by the Congress in the state.

"Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had started a scheme 'Anna Bhagya' under which free rice and wheat to 494 education institutions, NGOs, and old age homes were provided and the present government has stopped providing benefits to the poor people," said the MLA.

Alleging that the present government has stopped with the scheme Khadar said, "From last two months the government has stopped providing free food to the institutes and NGOs."

Khadar further demanded to restart the scheme to help the poor students.

"They should restart the scheme which supports poor students and old age houses, or congress will protest if the scheme is not restarted."

Last year in August, Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa had said that his government has no plans to stop any "pro-people schemes" including Anna Bhagya.

"Our government has no plans to scrap any of the pro-people schemes. Our Government is a pro-people Government. I have already signed the file to release grants to continue the "Anna Bhagya scheme" the twitter handle of Karnataka Chief Minister's Office had quoted him as saying.

Bengaluru, May 20: Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) had to confront an unprecedented situation as there was a commotion at bus stands in various parts of the state due to the mad rush of passengers.

Deputy Chief Minister Laxman Savadi, who is in charge of the transport department, admitted that there were some shortcomings in the arrangements. He, however, was confident that things would improve from Wednesday.

As against the dearth of passengers in the bus stands in Bengaluru a day ago, Wednesday witnessed an overwhelming crowd blaming BMTC authorities for not providing enough buses for all the destinations on time.

Some of the employees who were asked to report to duty before certain time were facing difficulty in reaching the office in the absence of bus despite having daily pass and arriving at the stand well in advance.

Authorities were finding it difficult to convince the public as a bus could ferry only 35 passengers at a time which was way less than the demand.
