Cops nab 12 for gambling after raid on flat; seize Rs 184 lakh

Bengaluru, Sept 11: Central Crime Branch (CCB) Special Investigation team of the city police have arrested 12 people who had indulged in illegally playing 'under bahar' card game and seized from them Rs 1.
84 lakh stake money.

Police said on Tuesday that the people arrested during a raid on a flat in posh HSBR Layout in the City on Monday night.
They were identified as Kiran, Jayakumar, Lokesh, Satish, Murali, Ajith, Sudhakar, Sampath Kumar, Muthu, Alok, Harish and Ram Prasad.

Banasavadi Police have registered a case and investigating.

Bengaluru, Jul 30: Karnataka reported 83 deaths and 6,128 new cases in the state on Thursday. With this, the total number of cases in the state stood at 1,18,632, the state health ministry said.

Currently, there are 69,700 active cases, while a total of 2,230 people have lost their lives due to the pandemic till now.

There are 15,83,792 confirmed cases across the country. Of them, 5,28,242 cases remain active. While 10,20,582 have recovered, 34,968 patients have lost their lives due to the pandemic.

Bengaluru, Apr 11: Seven more people have tested positive for coronavirus taking the tally to 214 in the state.

"Coronavirus cases rise to 214 in Karnataka, with seven more people testing positive between 5 PM Friday and 12 PM Saturday," said the Karnataka health department.

According to the health department, all these seven people have a history of contact with COVID-19 patients. Five of them are workers of a pharmaceutical company in Mysuru.

"Out of the total cases in the state, six people have died while 37 others were cured or discharged," added the state health department.

Mangaluru, Mar 14: About 80 centres to check people for fever, cold, cough and other symptoms related to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have been set up in the city, health officials said here on Saturday.

According to sources in district health department, apart from the testing centres at Wenlock District Hospital and Lady Goshen hospital, six centres in community health centres, 66 in primary health centres (PHC) and four in the taluk hospitals have been opened for people to get themselves checked if they show any COVID-19-related symptoms.

Two other testing centres are already working at the city’s airport and seaport.
